Dude Tells It Like It Is
This book is required reading for all Celiac patients. Gluten Dude lives and copes with this disease every day, as do I. He tells it like it is with solid facts and humor. After reading the book, it dawned on me that I am not the only one who feels a certain way or reacts a certain way to the hell this disease can be. It demands your attention every day in order to stay healthy. The Dude explains all of this and offers helpful suggestions. There are many responses from his blog that give you a broader insight on how others are handling the day to day. Would recommend this book to everyone with Celiac Disease and also to the people who support us. Keep up the good work, Dude. Please keep advocating for us and spreading awareness to the realities of CD.

Just what the doctor ordered!
I recommend this book SO highly. As the mother of two kids with celiac, and having lived with celiac myself for the past few years, I have found Gluten Dude's advice invaluable. Having it in book form is even better. He tells the truth about living with celiac (it's harder than everyone says), doctors (lots of misleading information about celiac from far too many doctors), food (just because it's gluten free doesn't mean it's good for you). He calls out food manufacturers who put celiacs at risk by marketing food as gluten free when it really isn't, TV personalities trying to make a buck by mocking people forced to eat gluten free, celiac "advocacy" groups in thrall to said food manufacturers. This book is a distillation not just of his advice, but of the collective wisdom of his faithful readers over the years. It's beautifully written, and funny to boot.

Great info, a must read for learning more about Celiac Disease
This is mainly a compilation of some of Gluten Dude's most popular blog posts with a few extras included. I thought this book was great. It is very insightful and informative. As someone who is severely gluten intolerant (most likely Celiac, but no time for my story here) I kept nodding my head in agreement as I read. Anyone who has Celiac, gluten sensitivity, or has a loved one with either, NEEDS to read this. I'll go as far to say that the food industry....restaurants, chefs, etc. NEEDS to read this book. Thank you Gluten Dude for your diligence, your advocacy, your support, and your love for the celiac/gluten intolerant community.I gave 4 stars because there is quite a bit of colorful language that wasn't really necessary. I'm a grown woman and can handle it, but just a heads up!

This book tells you what others don't
I felt that I had read everything under the sun about Celiac, knew enough, and didn't think I'd ever buy another book on the topic. I had heard about Gluten Dude from a friend, and decided to try this book. It was affordable, so I figured I didn't have much to lose and would support a good guy.It made me cry.I would suggest that anyone with Celiac, or anyone who knows someone with Celiac, read it. It tells you like it is, from the grief (grocery) store to the thing that no one tells you ... that a gluten free diet is not enough. I happened to read it when I was suffering the results of thinking a gluten free diet was all it takes, and that one section changed my thinking and understanding of the disease. It has helped me to understand other food intolerances, and the other factors that can impact GI well being ... and that other lifelong changes need to be made. From following Gluten Dude's site, I learned about Jennifer Esposito's new cookbook (Jennifer's Way Kitchen), which offers wonderful recipes for gluten-free cooking combined with other food intolerances ... it eliminates the need to modify gluten-free recipes.Buy this book ... you can't afford not to.

The psych social of celiac
I was lost and didn't even know where to start, googled Celiac books and poof! A buoy to grab on to as I drift from my old life into this not-yet-familiar celiac one. Thank you for compiling this. It made the difference after walking out of the Doctor office three months ago with the apparently well-trodden "don't eat gluten and you'll be fine" tag line from the nutritionist. Partway through, I emailed my doctor the title of this book and told her to share it with all her new celiac patients so they don't feel so lost. I wish I'd found this sooner, it hits home and provides answers to questions and problems I didn't even know I had or might be facing.Thank you thank you thank you Gluten Dude, and all the community members who shared their stories.

The Truth and Nothing But
The Naked Truth About Living With Celiac Disease is an authentic approach book. This is a book you wished your doctor handed off to you while he was telling you, “Oh, by the way you have celiac.” As someone previously mentioned get ready and go through a plethora of emotions. Now, go grab that baseball bat and a box of Kleenex because NO ONE has quite told you ‘the truth’ about celiac and gluten until now. This is as real as it gets. The scars we carry remain, but the pain slips away it seems - “Book Of Dreams“ by Bruce Springsteen

The Gluten Dude Gets It
Wow, everything in this book is gold. The Gluten Dude really does get it, what it's like to struggle with Celiac Disease. The book is a compilation of his best blog post from his website, glutendude.com, with some added introductions and "2017 dude notes". The format was perfect for me since I joined his newsletter late. I still recommend getting the book even if you have read every blog post to support the Gluten Dude, he is fighting the good fight on our behalf. The content is heavy yet delivered with the right amount of humor making each chapter fly by. I read, learned, made changes, and I am living all the better for it, you need to do the same!

GREAT BOOK FOR NEW CELIACS
This book is very good. Gluten Dude is one of the most informative and honest people in the celiac community. His book really explains what it's like to live with celiac disease, with plenty of humor thrown in. He makes you feel less alone with the disease and reminds you that your disease does NOT control your life, you control your disease through healthy choices. My only complaint is that so much of the book is copied from his blog; I'd like a little more original content. 4.5 stars
