Q: Has anyone used this for mice? I have a small colony of female mice is like to upgrade into a bigger cage but I worry about bar spacing

Contrary to what Prevue said, which is frustrating, mice shouldn't be housed with bars that are greater than 1/4 inch or 6.5mm apart, unless you want escapees. Mice don't have collarbones and are therefore experts at squeezing through tight spaces! I'd stick with a 40+ gallon tank with a mesh cage, or look elsewhere. Good luck!

Q: Is this cage 608 sq in as the Dimensions equal

The base tapers in slightly to 16" wide x 30" long at the bottom which yields 480 in^2, but remember the shelf is 17" wide x 11" long which adds another 187 in^2 of area. Combined the usable area within the cage is 667 in^2. The metal cage is 18" wide x 32" long. I hope that this helps.

Q: Is it bigger that a 20 gallon long tank? I have that right now for my hamster, Melvin and dont wanna get a new cage if its not gonna be any bigger?

20 gallons is far too small for a hamster, you should upgrade to this cage or something similar (its roughly 40-45 gallons) right away. I keep mine in a 120 gallon.

Q: Is this ok for a Syrian hamster ?

This is working great for our long-haired Syrian hamsters. They each have their own cage and love having so much room to move around.
