I had a splinter on the pad of my foot buried so deep that I couldn't even see it. It started to hurt pretty badly. I soaked my feet in Epsom salts, hot water, etc. I put this on every day and covered it with a bandage. I did this consistently for three days, until one morning, when I took the bandage off, and there was a tiniest sliver of wood just sitting there. I have really thick calluses on my feet, so I kinda doubted a drawing salve could do the trick- but it did! To clarify: I consistently clean my feet with soap and hot water. And would put the pride on when my skin was dry, and applied a new bandage. I did this about 2 times a day.

This salve works great, it has a slight burnt odor but like I said slight. It is a thick paste which some may find difficult to put on. But, you only need a little and it needs to be thick so it can draw out the splinter or pimple or even ease the itch of a bug bite. I would love to see an option for a larger size for larger families but you really only need a small amount and so far after using multiple times I've only created one little dip in the surface of the product. I will buy again.

I personally use Hyland’s PRID Drawing Salve to help with facial ingrown hairs and acne flare-ups. It works really well for drawing things out and calming irritation. I’ve noticed a clear improvement when I use it overnight on problem spots.That said, the salve does have a very distinct and somewhat unpleasant smell when first applied—definitely something to get used to. It’s also pretty gooey in texture, but I’m confident that stickiness contributes to how effective it is. Overall, it’s a solid product that I keep on hand, just not the most pleasant to apply. Still, the results make it worth it.

Hyland’s PRID (Pain Relief & Irritant Drawing Salve) worked really well on the three mosquito bites I acquired in the church parking lot this morning. By the time we got back home, they were itching like crazy, and I had scratched their tops off. I rubbed a little dab of PRID on each bite and had almost instant relief. The best thing was that the salve didn’t leave black goo under my fingernails or smell awful like the old ichthammol ointment I remember using as a child. It does have ichthammol and sulfur listed as active ingredients, but their smell is overpowered by the scent of the pain-relieving botanicals -- arnica, calendula and echinacea, and it fades quickly. I expect to put it to good use this summer on splinters and ant bites acquired while gardening, and I plan to order another tin to keep in the car.

I bought this hoping it would help with a deep splinter that was hard to remove, but I didn’t notice any real improvement after several applications. The texture is thick and a bit sticky, which made it tough to keep on the area unless it was fully covered with a bandage. It also has a strong, medicinal smell that lingered longer than I expected.It might offer some mild relief for surface-level skin irritations or bug bites, but for actual drawing out of splinters or ingrown hairs, it didn’t live up to the reputation. I appreciate that it's made with natural ingredients, but I wouldn’t rely on it for anything beyond minor skin issues.

This stuff is DA BOMB for insect bites, and I live where insects are plentiful and very unpleasant. Put it on, (cover it with a bandaid if you’re going to get it on clothing or furniture), and within a couple of hours you won’t even be able to tell you were bitten / stung. Great product and not a list of unpronounceable chemistry on your skin. I usually remove the bandaid and wash the salve off the same day in the shower, and the bite/sting is pretty much undetectable. I don’t recall ever even needing a second application, and I’ve been using it for a few years now.
