UTEBIT 50mm Arca Swiss Quick Release Plate, Aluminum QR Clamp Adapter Set with 3/8"&1/4" Screw Hole, Built-in Bubble Level Compatible with Manfrotto DSLR Camera Tripod Ball Head Monopod

I used this to adapt our SLIK 700DX pan head to accept Arca Swiss plates.The 700DX utilizes a unique round tripod adapter that in and of itself is a very sound design; however, the unique circular adapters are better than $16 a pop and are not the most inobtrusive thing to have hanging on the bottom of a camera.Also, by adapting the SLIK to accept the universally standard Arca Swiss dovetail plates, I can permanently install an Arca Swiss plate on all my cameras and thus they be compatible with almost any tripod I may encounter.I attached this clamp-plate on top of one of the SLIK round adapters and it worked as if purpose-made for the application.There is one flaw in the design of the Utebit 50mm Quick Release; that being, the width of the clamping shoe protrudes a wee bit below the bottom of the base; thus, necessitating the addition of a thin spacer between the clamp base and mounting surface; otherwise, the clamping shoe will bind against the mounting surface.An alternative, but not so easily accomplished fix would be to grind a bit from the bottom edge of the clamping shoe.The base should have been made to protrude a bit lower than the clamping shoe and no spacer would have been necessary.This same fault in design is present in all of the many look-alikes available here and elsewhere.The thoughtful design of the center mounting hole allows for two alternatives in mounting.The countersunk center hole is threaded standard 1/4 x 20.The upper shank of the provided stainless center screw is thinner than the threaded portion for a distance equal to the depth of the threaded center hole; thus, orientation of the clamp base and mounting surface are not dependent on the two opposing threads matching up.The supplied hex-socket stainless center screw is of flat-head countersunk design; the necessary Allen wrench comes in the box.The clamp base measures 1-31/32" long, 2" wide with plate clamped, and 5/8" tall.The shank of the tightening knob is 7/16" (between the inside of the knob and the clamping shoe).Overall length of the knob is 1-1/8".Outside diameter of the metal portion of the knob is 13/16".Overall outside diameter of the knob, including the knurled rubber grip is 1"The knob is far enough away from the base and of sufficient diameter to allow for operating with gloves on.With a thin spacer as already described, this clamp base, as is, will attach to almost any tripod adapter out there and work as an Arca Swiss conversion adapter; just attach the tripod adapter to the clamp base the same as if it were a camera.Other than the need for a spacer, as already described, this item is very well made, plenty strong, and of clever design.The dovetail mating surfaces are a perfect fit.Everything works smooth and precise.It is a 5-star product, even with the one minor design flaw.

Inexpensive ARCA fastener that is well engineered, well made and works like a charm. I fastened it to a tripod and panhead and it works great and is fast and easy to use.

This is a well-made, solid adapter. The levels are very useful, but the bubbles are a little small. Getting the camera on and off was easy and quick. Overall, a really solid performer.

Fat large base with 1/4 on a 3/8 insert in case you have a very heavy duty set up. I’m mounting this on a telescope mount with a heavy 600mm Nikon and the weak part may be my 3/16 aluminum plate. If you can break these (I bought 2) then you just destroyed 2 grand worth of equipment because you dropped them off a cliff. 100% worth 13.00 price tag. And it’s standard size so it fits all my other bases. No plastic crap in these mounts. Not realizing it, I found one of my mounts that came with a tripod was actually plastic. I figured it out while comparing it with these.

I added Acra Swiss mounts to all my tripods, go pro, and phone mounting equipment. My Sony ZV-1 goes through batteries pretty quickly so unscrewing it from the 1/4 mounting screw on the tripod to change the battery was pretty tedious I bought a bunch of these mounting systems so a I had clamp on each tripod and a plate on each camera (or phone mount). Super easy to remove and reattach cameras now! These UTEBIT systems are fairly priced, very solid, and have worked very well so far. Happy with my purchase and would buy again.

Not to get too deep into the weeds, but my tripods (Commercial type and heavy) have similar mounts. So now I can pull my BMPCC 6K Pros (fully rigged) off of the tripods, slap them onto the Monopods, and make each very portable.
