Great display piece
I wanted a very nice hand painted dinosaur figurine for display. I'm glad I discovered this brand. There's a lot of detail in the painting as well as the natural looking creases of the skin. It looks like it just walked out of a painting. It's much heavier than I expected. It sits evenly on a table without any wobble. The only off putting thing is the eyes on mine. One is looking straight ahead and the other is looking downward. It's a small quibble and nothing worth the trouble of an exchange. The open jaw feature is awesome with highly detailed teeth and tongue. I only had to touch up two unpainted areas on one toe and one toenail with a dark brown and a dark green colored pencil. It was quick and results were great. The top of this dinosaur is SHARP so I can't imaging playing with it. It came in a bag that had sturdy cardboard covering the long tail and a clear molded plastic piece underneath the body. Great value for the price.

So realistic it just might bite you!
Papo has really outdone itself with this one! The attention to detail is just amazing and the color pattern is exquisite. Definitely worth every penny of the price, and more reasonable cost-wise than some of the other competitors like PNSO and Creative Beasts…although no offense to them, I love them too!!! Great model all around, especially for a meticulous collector of prehistoric animals. I’d give it ten stars if I could!

Beautiful model fine detail and paint job
I love Papo Dinosaurs for there realistic details and the Acrocanthosaurus, though one of the smaller models, keeps up the tradition of realism and fine detail. They tend to be relatively expensive by if you are using them in a display rather than playing with them as a toy I think it's worth it. They seem to be pretty tough as far as keeping their paint because I have yet to receive one with any surface damage. I had to send for the retired one for my collection

Great Looking Dinosaur
I have recently bought a lot of dinosaurs for my nephew, most are from Papo and Schliech I have also purchased from collect a and safari LTD. This is one of my favorites, the picture does not do it justice, I love the life like pose, the depth of detail in the texture of the model and the coloring. Well worth every penny!

A Papo Acrocanthosaurus Review For Parents and Collectors
Quick Note: To clarify the comments from the review, pictures in the review, and the answers from this product's question section, you'll receive the 2018 model as advertised/pictured (the "Acro Tiger Camo"). You shouldn't get the 2017 Acrocanthosaurus "Rainbow"/"purple" model, since it's been discontinued. How some recent reviews or answers say they got the 2017 model in 2018, is beyond me.3.5/5 Playability: I have to be honest with you, Papos aren't meant for rough play. They'll only last a few months before they wear or brake. It's up to you if you want to throw $20+ dollars on a toy for your child to break or forget. Most papo figures are there for soft play and watching (decoration/collecting). Unless you know your child isn't the type to bash objects, then you're probably better off with more cheaper (less detailed) but sturdier dinosaur figures (brands such as Terra, Safari, mattel, etc.)4.75/5 Sculpt: The sculpt and amount of little details papo puts on their dinosaur line is phenomenal! I haven't seen many dinosaur sculpts of same price or even higher match the quality that papo does (See pictures for reference). For the size and relation consistency with other papo figures from the dinosaur line, it's pretty great. It's close but not bigger than the T-rex papo figure. As for its stance, it's the only drawback or problem that I know many will have a problem with (personally I don't) and is why it isn't a perfect 5/5. The figure doesn't hold up with just its two legs. It requires its right hand in order to hold the itself up (very similar to the papo dilophosaurus). Barely any articulation going on other than the mouth (which is not bad or great), but hopefully one day papo will decide to add more articulation on their future figures (e.g.. Movable legs, arms, and etc.).4/5 Paint job: The colors aren't as saturated or beautiful as advertised. It's a simple marketing tactic that you'll find many companies do. For that I deducted a point. It's still a stunning figure, and is definitely better than its previous 2017 model. Instead of the cartoony and extremely vibrant colors of the 2017 "purple" model, this version is more believable and realistic. It's for that reason I even went my way and got this figure. It's amazing how the color palate of an object could really bring out the details and change the perception of a product. If you probably couldn't tell, I didn't like the 2017 model and avoided it.3/5 Price Range: Now the original price is actually $40.99. I don't think that's worth the price at all. At the time however, I did get this product when it was on sale for $28 dollars...still kind of expensive for a toy of that size and usability. If you think about it, you could spend that $28 dollars or if you're for some reason planning to get this for $40 dollars, you could spend that $28 or $40 dollars on something more usable or entertaining for your child (other toy brands for more usability, board or video games, clothes, sports, etc). As for the price range for a collector, $28 dollars is good compared to other products! $40 dollars is getting to the hefty side. In all I think this product is decently or about fairly priced at $28 dollars.Should you get it? As a gift for a child, I would definitely get it for him or her, if they're curiosity for dinosaurs makes them deeply intrigued. There are some but not totally important anatomical flaws with the figure (as with every papo dinosaur figure, which is probably more a style of choice than a unintentional design). So if pure accuracy is what you're looking for, then this probably isn't it. As a dinosaur figurine collector, I think this is a must have. Definitely the best or if not, one of the best papo figures of all time and one of the best looking dinosaur figure out there to date. It is a thing of beauty, no doubt about that. I just wish it were as true of color as it was advertised and it was poseable. Other than that, I genuinely love this figure a lot!Despite some raised issues, I am satisfied with my purchase and happy to have this item. I'm going to get a different papo figure for my nephew too!

Highly recommend!
Best Papo dinosaur model in my opinion. I prefer the tiger stripe patter over the purple, orange and grey color scheme. I took a picture with both paint schemes to show how the tiger stripe pattern has a matte finish while the other has more gloss. The Papo Acro is big and extremely detailed. Worth every penny!
