When I ordered this kit, I was planning to use my portable a/c unit in a shed so I could work on organizing it without dying of heat stroke during the Texas summer. I had not installed it yet when the a/c went out in my home. I remembered I had purchased this kit so I set the portable a/c up in my living room with it venting out the window. I drain the condensation the unit pulls from the air into a 5 gallon bucket. I am so thankful I already had the window vent kit when this happened because outside temps have been near or greater than 100 degrees during the days. I have managed to keep the open living/kitchen area at around 80 degrees. The vent kit was so easy to set up and the extra panels allow it to fit a range of window sizes. Just remember that you do need to purchase the hose separately. And I suggest purchasing a longer hose than you think you will need. It took nearly a month for my homeowner's warranty company to get a tech out to my home to determine the problem with my a/c. It will require replacement, so now it will be over a month that my a/c was out. Thank goodness for the portable a/c and this window vent kit!

This is definitely an upgrade from the smaller sliding plastic window thing that came with the AC, the adapters fit but the actual hose male end that twists into your hose doesn’t have a super tight fit in the plastic window piece, it works but I am not sure if it will fall out eventually

This is easy to adjust and remove from the window. Fits a large amount of windows and honestly, it is thicker and more insulating than the single pane windows we have. Thanks! One star removed for the hose insert being a struggle to easily connect and keep connected.

I had a unit and the window part broke. This was the only replacement I could find. It works but I had to tape up all the gaps along the window/casing it really doesn’t fit flush between a slide and the edge but there aren’t a lot of options. If you need a unit bad enough you’ll hillbilly rig and tape what you need because it’s slim pickings to find something.

I ordered this kit because my niece bought me one and it worked great. I wanted one for my 2nd bedroom. I had it in the box until today. When I went to put it up it was missing all the metal butterfly accessories and the sealing tape. Don't need the tape but can't put it up without the screws. Missed the return deadline and now have a useless kit. Sure would have been nice if it would have come complete.

I have dealt with these window openings for years. I tried this and it worked great. My window is tall, I put it together and used the universal piece and it looks really nice and snug. It’s thicker than the slats that come with the unit. No spaces. I ordered another one for another window.
