Great sprinkler and works great!
So easy to water my entire front and even side yard without having to reposition the sprinkler. This is a heavy casting and very well made. Nice that it has two speeds to select, and you can adjust how fast it spins by adjusting the angle of the two water strayers. I've had neighbors ask me already where I got this sprinkler so I'm sure I will see more in the next months.

Best thing ever
I have a 150lb Cane Corso who thinks sprinklers are evil and must be destroyed. I could not let him in the yard while water was running until now. This sprinkler was SO heavy and SO sturdy he could not destroy it and finally gave up. I can not say enough about what awesome quality this has. The paint has stayed beautiful and bright despite many bites and attempts to stop the sprinkler by my crazy dog.If you want QUALITY this is it!!!!!Moves along the hose smoothly despite bumpy and sloping terrain even with the dog trying to tip it over.I have extremely low water pressure also which did not stop the sprinkler from moving and watering perfectly.

Motor Doesn't Last!
I purchased 2 of these, and use them daily. Within the first month one of the motors died. It wouldn't travel anymore but rather made a clicking noise every time it tried to move. It worked fine in the neutral position, but I didn't purchase these to be a stationary sprinkler. A few weeks later the second one went out. The manufacturer did send me a new motor with no questions asked, but how long is the replacement going to work if both of the originals wore out within a month and a half? I purchased a yellow Nelson one at the same time and so far, it's still working great. So far, I'd recommend the Nelson over the Melnor.

did not last even 2 months
We have only had it mot even 2 months and the gears are stripped and can not return it. Buyer beware. We received a email from the company. They worked with me and sent us a new back end for it. It works better now then it did when we first got it. It now works great. So now we will see. Love it now.

Best Sprinkler for medium, large or odd-shaped yards
I have a 1/4 acre yard that has a front lawn split by a sidewalk and driveway, skinny side lawn and a long triangular back. I use a 100' hose and it perfectly waters my entire back and side lawn. Another 100' hose on the front (a bit overkill) also gets the job easily done. I will say that you have to make sure it's a bigger diameter hose, smaller hoses or collapsible hoses don't work with these sprinklers as they will simply run over the hose and go off course. I also wouldn't recommend a longer hose and definitely try to run it downhill instead of uphill, as it can stall out trying to pull the hose uphill and dig a hole with the wheels.I put the sprinkler on the high-speed setting and it waters perfectly; soil is nice and wet but not soaking. I rotate mornings between the front and back lawn during droughts and my lawn stays nice and green without burning through too much water.I'd say the spray radius is about 20-25ft, so it covers quite a large area. The auto-stop works great as well. I was super skeptical but after a full summer I never had any issues with it not stopping properly.

Just buy it,it's worth it
Definitely worth the price, would suggest Do Not change Speed or Handle while water pressure is on, the gear train feels a bit weak may strip on you.Saves me huge amounts of time moving oscillating sprinklers on my 1 acre yard. Moves about 35ft. An hour at my house YMMV, seriously considering buying another. Not set and Forget cause has jumped hose and run off, couple of times, lol,(low spot) but no issues. Use 3 times a week, on 150 foot runs at a time, runs all day long. Pick it up at night lots of stop and lookers.

Love It Love It Love It
When it arrived I informed my husband that we had just saved $5000 and a whole lot of work. And it's true. We're at the point that moving sprinklers for 4 hours, twice a week, is more than we want to deal with. We were looking at having an inground sprinkler system installed and then I remembered the sprinkler that my Dad used for years. I did an Amazon search and eventually found the Melnor firetruck and ordered it. 15 minutes after delivery it was watering the yard. Not knowing it's speed settings, I set it on Fast and an hour later it had completed the full length of the yard. Since it was unable to cover the full width of the yard, and because I wanted to see how long it took on Slow, I moved it over about 6' and started it on Slow. It took 2 1/2 hours and the yard got a good soaking to protect it from these 100 degree days. I too got a good soaking because I was too lazy to turn the faucet off when I was reactivating the on/off plunger on the bottom. 3 times I sprayed myself, from face to toes. I'd say the sprinkler is smarter than I am.Update: Fast speed took an hour; Med speed took 2 1/2 hours; Slow speed took 3 1/2 hours

Started out good
At first, this sprinkler did what it was intended to do but I noticed right away that it kept jumping off the hose and going on it's merry way away from the hose. I thought it was due to some uneven spots in my lawn but found that the steer (front or tracking) wheel pivot was binding. I added a little grease to the plastic washers which helped. A couple weeks ago I noticed that as it was traveling the rear or drive wheels were skipping and not making much forward progress. After it quit moving altogether my mechanic brain took over and I opened up the drive assembly. I found one of the gears missing almost all of its teeth which were laying in the housing. All the gears are made of plastic. Its a fairly good product but maybe find a way to make it sturdier.
