British WWII Brodie Helmet Replacement Liner- Size 7 5/8 (61 cm)

I had an old Brodie helmet I found at my grandparents' house back in the '90's. It had been sitting in a box until recently when I decided to clean it up and display it. It had no liner and while searching Amazon came across this one from your company. It's perfect for what I need to complete my task.

I have two of these in different sizes and an original to compare.While this will fit correctly into an original Brodie/Mk.2 shell and looks fine on a shelf, it is a bit shallower than an original so you will have trouble fitting your head so that it stays on without the strap. It is definitely made of plastic throughout and feels much cheaper than an original. Durability seems ok but the tactile quality makes me think of a child's toy. The foam pad isn't cut well and is harder than the original. The brass bolt is included but is much smaller than an original (and I recommend painting it). The liner tie is way too thick (replaces with a black shoelace easily enough) and you won't be able to adjust it to anything other than maximum depth if you don't want it to immediately fall off your head.On the positive, the rubber spacers are actually pretty spot-on and make great spares if your original liner is missing one though!Unless you have a really unusually large head, size 61 is extra large to begin with and this liner runs even larger than that in my opinion. If you do decide to get one of these try the size 58 first.Unless this is purely to turn a spare shell into a wallhanger, I would hold out for an original liner which you can find if you are patient on the auction site with "Bay" in its name. If you are at all into collecting surplus militaria, avoid reproductions altogether as they almost invariably disappoint.Shipping anything from IMA to Canada results in brutal shipping fees and extra import charges that are inconsistently applied.

Looked good at first. Tried to put it into a helmet shell and what a disaster. This thing did not even come close to fitting. I get that it is cheap but come on. The cross straps on top were not square, the brass grommets were not even set and the cross straps were too short. I had to completely rework the thing to even get it to fit.Was not worth my time to return it, I will just live with it as the helmet is only for display.

I bought this for an old helmet I had laying around the house. I've had a home made liner in it for years that sorta worked, but this screwed right in, fit great and looks better!

It’s a great replacement, the sweatband is a little cheesy material but as a wall hanger it’s just fine.

had an old brodie helmet that the lineing was all dry rotted out Amazone found me the liner to make it fit . WHY? because I may use it for renacting or put it in mussem .

Excellent quality. Replaced a smaller original for a original helmet used in reenacting.
