Nicolas Cage was at one time one of my favourite Hollywood actors with roles in films such as 'FACE-OFF' - 'CON AIR' - 'THE ROCK' - 'WINDTALKERS' - and yes movies such as 'GONE IN 60 SECONDS' and 'NATIONAL TREASURE' ...to name just a few, however, for myself in recent years his choice of roles has been questionable., is this the latest offering the beginning of better things ?in this movie we see Nic Cage play Nic Cage.....mmm...Wel, disillusioned with his lot after being turned down for a major movie role coupled with his daughters seeming rejection Nic fly's off to Majorca to be a guest at Javi Gutierrez, (Pedro Pascal ) sea-view villa.At the airport Nic has already attracted the attention o9f C.I.A agents who have intersest inthe goings on of Javi.It sewms the C.I.A believe Javi believed to be the head of a crime outfit has kidnapped ofMaria, the daughter of a Catalan anti-crime politician, with the hope that he will drop out of an upcoming election.Nic is recruited to by the C.I.A to investigate, however, Nic and Javi have really hit it off and are becoming close friends, turns out that Javi is a big fan of Nic's movies.Things begin to get tough when Javi's cousin the real crime boss turns against Javi and also kidnap's Nic's daughter as a hostage.The body-count begins to grow, and Nic becomes an unlikely hero.What can I say, I actually enjoyed the viewing, it was funny and hugely offbeatNot anything close to what i've seen before......give it a go even if you wait for it to be available to stream - free.

cage always does quirky films that other fear to do . he just doesn't give a @@@@ ! and that's why he's great to watch as an actor . he can turn any film into a smash ! .. he probably has an off the wall bonkers personality really ..which makes is acting some pictures effortless and artless , that it falls into repose ! ; it's nothing to him . to think he went on a 2day bender in Vegas and woke up married , only to divorce the woman 4days later does not surprise me . Maybe that's his next chapter his crazy life . but whatever he's in , it's always entertaining ! :)

I watched this movie just for the meme with Pedro pascal and nike cage on tik tok. Didn’t disappoint. Great movie

The two lead characters really carried this off well. Clever using his own name etc as automatically you're rooting for the film to work.It did. It was funny, and they have fantastic screen chemistry, really works.I gave four rather than five as to give five would only be for a mind blown kind of movie. But I do highly recommend this, I paid just as it come out and frankly, I normally regret that with recent films, but this was worth every penny. Not because the plot was next level or anything, it was worth every pound because it was a proper feel good, smile lots, laugh kind of film that was touching in a cute kind of way.

Stuck in Las Palmas Airport for two screaming kids and our plane delayed by 4 hours, we thought we'd check this new Nick Cage film out based on a recommendation from a friend. So glad we did - not only were we in fits of laughter (admittedly annoying for our fellow travellers trapped at the gate waiting with us), but Cage's performance made our kids look altogether sane.Cracking film, well worth the rental and destined to be a cult classic. Oh, and Pedro Pascal has the kindest eyes of any man living or dead. There. I said it.
