A must have book for anyone studying the art of karate!
This is by far one of the most comprehensive books about the art of Karate I have ever read. This book is a must for anyone planning on or currently studying the art of Karate. Itzik Cohen thoroughly covers the history, methodology, philosophy, culture, and legacy that Karate has left throughout its evolution. He dispels many of the myths that some practitioners still carry with them today. He gives an accurate history of several influential countries, cultures, and political events that helped shape Karate into what it is today. From its early beginning to its modern day popularity, this book has it all!Karate Uchina-Di will definitely be required reading in my syllabus for any student who is serious about beginning the journey through this fascinating art known as, Karate.

No citations ...
Sadly, as with most karate books, the work's sources aren't cited. This causes two main problems: believing his claims because they aren't supported with the sources, and 2) making it not credible to use/cite in your own research. I hope he comes out with a new edition with citations, and hope other authors do the same. The information is interesting but nothing to support its veracity.
