Why did you pick this product vs others?:This desk was so affordable and it is actually very sturdy. I was worried that since the price was so low that it wouldn’t be sturdy but to my surprise it is very dependable and works great as my fiancé’s work/gaming desk. The side shelves are useful and it was tall and wide enough to fit his rolling chair into. Assembly took about 40 minutes which was easy to follow along. I recommend this desk, I got it as a gift for my fiancée and he loves it.

Easy to put together. You might need a power tool. It was a little hard taking the little tool provided. Instructions were clear just be aware of what side each piece goes on. Not too big or too small, fits my room perfectly and sturdy. Doesn’t move at all

Why did you pick this product vs others?:The desk itself is pretty sturdy and looks nice. The shelves feel like they are plastic made to look like real wood but they don't feel like real wood. It's the perfect size for what I needed it for but the price after tax is almost $50 for a small plastic desk, which I feel is a bit high. I'm only giving 3 stars because not only are the shelves plastic but the instructions are terrible. It's only pictures and not every angle is given so you don't realize until after you put the whole thing together and go to put the stabilizer bars on that all the screw holes for those parts are on the wrong side. There is nothing on the instructions indicating that those extra screw holes need to face outward and because the parts are interconnected, I had to remove all of the shelves, which are not easy to screw on because the holes are on the underside, and flip everything around before I could put the stabilizer bars on. By that time I was tired of dealing with it. It was a huge pain. Overall, it's an ok desk, just make sure you that all of the screw holes for the stabilizer bars face out so you don't have to disassemble and then reassemble it like I did.

Nice desk, good quality but FYI - a 40 inch desk is best suited for a middle/high school student. As a grown up mid 30s grad student, this desk is so cramped and has very little room.
