Accent Plus 12698 Classic Renaissance Crucifix, 12 x 4.25 x 20 inches Tall, Multicolor

The workmanship and artistry on this piece are beyond exceptional. The underlying piece is well built and well easily outlast me by a long time. The sculpture and painting are perfectly done. The suffering our savor did for us is evident. The hair looks like it is blowing. The desolation that this brings adds to the religious power of the crucifix.There are two minor problems with this piece. First off, the detailing on the blowing hair ends in small and fragile tips. It looks good on the wall but a single drop will damage it. Second - and more importantly, the vertical and horizontal cross bars do not meet at a right angle. This looks ok on the artwork itself. However; hanging it becomes a problem because either the vertical support can be up and down or the horizontal bar can be level not both. Either way you do it will get some critic to tell you it is not straight. Also this lack of perpendicularness means that you should not hang it next to square picture frames or close to the edge of a wall.Even with those issues this is a good crucifix. The craftsmanship and spirituality outweigh the problems which can be remedied. This cross has sold for under $20 which makes it a great deal.

Many years ago while on vacation I saw a cross in a church that had a corpus with knees drawn up and head hanging. It was very moving. I had never seen one like it. The church had a gift shop where they sold smaller replicas but the shop was closed and it was our last day of vacation so we headed home. I have thought about that cross for years. I can’t remember where the church was. Probably Gulf Shores Alabama or Siesta Key Florida Area. I’ve looked online and sadly can’t find the church.I decided to look for a similar crucifix. I looked at the local Catholic stores and Catholic websites. I have looked at every crucifix listed on Amazon. This one came the closest. Two things made me hesitate. I was afraid that being made of resin it would look cheap and the pictures did not clearly show the face. I ordered anyway and I’m glad I did. I am very happy with this crucifix. It is beautiful. I have posted pictures that show the face. I can’t believe it was so inexpensive. If I ever find the one I was looking for I will buy it but this is definitely the next best thing.

I'm blessed to work in a religiously-tolerant organization and wanted this for my office. My very first reaction to opening the box was, "Oh my gosh, this is way too big." Part of the largeness this gives off is slightly an optical illusion since the corpus is thicker than the cross behind it. The corpus leans forward almost half a foot. I would get out a tape measure and think about whether you're comfortable with the dimensions.Mine doesn't have the glossy, shiny finish I see on the customer-posted images. It's also not as bright as the product picture itself. It's more subdued and natural-looking, which I like. Mine also has what looks like dirt in some of the folds of the statue, which can't be removed and which I suppose could be interpreted as lending a rough-shod artiness to it.It grew on me. It's a very thoughtful, artful piece of religious imagery. I wish we had so much more like this.

One of our favorite crucifixes, beautifully depicts the love of our Savior for humanity. We have already purchased 3 of them for gifts for family and friends. Great deal and you will most likely not find a more elegant and large crucifix for the price. It is made extremely well and is a solid piece of art. Each Catholic as well as Christian home should proudly display such a crucifix to remind all who enter our homes, Who is the center of our home. May God bless you! (John 3:14-17)

A beautiful and emotional reminder of what our Lord endured for our salvation. The wind swept hair, loin cloth, and 'King of the Jews' sign really sets this crucifix in motion. I am not an artist or an art critic, so I cannot comment on the accuracy or inaccuracy of the shading as some have suggested in prior reviews. The "sculpture" seems proportional and contains many pleasing details, at least to my untrained eye. Highly recommend it."Truly, this man was the Son of God!"

Crucifix is as beautiful as described. It is 15 inches and looks like it could have once been hanging in a side chapel of an old Italian church. For the price, it is absolutely amazing. It is very classy and moving. If you have ever been in an old candlelit church and stared at the statues, they sometimes appear almost to be alive, this crucifix has that quality as Christ appears very near death and the wind is blowing his hair and garment. It evokes the emotions a crucifix is meant to. I can't imagine how this piece would be disappointing to anyone looking for a crucifix.

I wanted a new crucifix and was also needing to stay within a budget. The crucifix is much larger and substantial than the photos convey. This would be a wonderful gift because of the quality. It's more a sculpture that a simple wall hanging. The price is great for the value.

It is big (20 x12 inch. the cross) But I wanted something a little bigger. I didn't think it was this big! There were some areas that needed paint (hair on chest, nail on one foot and blood dripping from that non painted nail) Those areas without paint was skin color. The face is a little simple but when you look at the image all together it works. No one is going to look at every nook and cranny. Not a painter by trade but I was able to touch up those areas without color with a special marker. I wish it had a little more of wounds or scares to capture the true nature (but not over the top) of His death. Overall for the price it is worth it. It came quickly and with no damage. I love it and it looks awesome! I had it blessed and if you want to make a big statement with a crucifix then this is the one to do it with!
