well made
good quality. Well made. I bought a Harbor Freight 1 horse motor to replace and antique motor that gave up the ghost. It had a larger arbor size but Harbor Freight doesn't sell pullies. This fits perfectly.

Make sure the v-grooves are the correct size
I actually dropped my original sheave and broke 2 chunks off. this was a good match and fit my new motor perfectly.

It worked!
Supposed to have got a 4- step pulley, instead I got a 3-step pulley. Bought for a band saw, and it did fit and work. So I have to give it that!

Basic, reasonable price, but get your files ready
This is a very basic four step pulley in soft white metal. The keyway and bore are accurately formed, and the grooves are true to round. But be prepared to get out your files and remove the casting lines.Like everything I've seen from Chicago Diecasting, this has big casting lines that stand proud by around 1.5mm (other pieces I've bought had a lot of flashing that is sometimes sharp). The product picture shows some casting lines, but my delivered pulley was a much brighter colour and had much more prominent lines.I'll be using this at 3450RPM, and I was worried that it might damage the V-belt. I also like my finished machines to look right, so I spent a good hour trimming and filing. But at the price Amazon is selling these for, it's time and money well spent.

Very good for price
Bought two of these for a speed reduction jackshaft for my lathe. Others have complained about product polish, but frankly I don;t see the problem. What few burs or sharp edges are easily polished off with a bit of emery cloth. Likely no attention at all would be needed as simple belt friction would self polish any rough spots. These are nice castings with at least three separate machining steps. Then they sell for this bargain price? You want cosmetic perfection go ahead and buy another at way more money. I'm quite pleased with the product as is.Doc

This did exactly what I needed. I have an ...
This did exactly what I needed. I have an older craftsman lathe and with the stock motor pulley it spun too fast for doing bowls. The smaller pulley on this stepped pulley allowed me to run the lathe slower with the same motor. The casting is a little rough, but not enough to have any ill effects for me. I'm using it with a linked belt for turning the lathe.

Works well enough
If you are looking for a precision pulley this is not it. It is concentric enough for most applications and it is very light weight. I needed a budget set for what I was building and these fit the bill exactly.
