Q: Will this work with voip? I have Comcast for phone and internet. I want to be able to switch from phone to fax without having to deal with wires

This is an RJ11/RJ12 switch. That wire size is for handset to phone connections and analog phone to wall connections. If you're using an analog (traditional) phone with the Comcast router then it should work as the fax machine is also an analog (RJ11) device also. Both devices being RJ11, this switch would work fine because neither the phone nor the fax is a true VoIP device. They are simply traditional analog devices plugging into the RJ11 jack on the Comcast router. A true VoIP phone would use an RJ45 connection to the network like your PC and this switch would not be usable for that.

Yes, that is what we are using it for. We let our Ooma phone line toggle between a home phone and hp fax printer. We then manually switch as needed. Make sure you order an extra phone line . We also created a small label so we know which device is selected (phone or fax).

Hello We were a little late because we waited for the results of the inquiry to the headquarters. This product basically uses RJ-11/12 (6P6C, 6P4C) cables. The headquarters said that direct connection is not possible with 4P2W or 4P4W. It is said that it can be used if you convert it to a gender or converter.
