Beautiful stainless steel sandwich base casserole from Hawkins in Futura model.
I am big fan of Hawkins. This 3ltr casserole I like to use for serving Biryani & curry vegetables. It is sufficient for four to five people. Depends on appetiteSome people aren’t fond of Bakelite handle because they feel that it may chip or break. Although the handle is very sturdy. Personally I like it because I am not fond of casserole with steel handle. Also, since I have always used Hawkins cookware from past 25 years, I can tell with confidence that it doesn’t chip or break until it literally falls at a wrong angle. Such accident does happen but even the stainless steel handle casserole can get a dent in such a scenario.I have never faced any issues.The con is that; it is not dishwasher safe. This is what Hawkins company has written in the instruction manual.This is one problem with Hawkins. I don’t know why Hawkins is not working on this issue.

Hawkins trust! Go for it.
The depth & width is perfect for making any indian dish. Perfect for 3-4 people cooking. i make poha, upma & also pulao & also curries in same pan. Bottom is perfectly thick. Hawkins was used by my mother & i now being a mother myself still trust & use hawkins.

Not so great but not so bad!
According to the product discription the sandwich bottom is good but it is leading to heavy bottom charring! After using extensivly for a month I feel you should fine tune all ur recipe for eg if it is one pot biriyani - if ur regular time is 15min cut short to ten min and go for retained heat cooking.Space wise it is too good. It cooks 750gms rice + 500gms chicken without any issue.I request Hawkins to look into the base. Otherwise it's a ok product! The quality is good .
