Finally the mic I’ve been searching for…
Having tried mini of the clip style of mics on the market, I’m happy to say this particular product has out performed the rest, by a longshot. I have played the flute for 10+ years and have tried various options for simple lightweight mic.I took a chance knowing the price was higher than many other options, but this paid off. Perfectly clear sound and I’m impressed at how little key noise is picked up. Battery life is also impressive.

Flute addicted here...
True I have nothing to compare since this is my first mike ever but I must say that I love this thing, I live in a small apt with no acoustics but now it feel like I'm pIaying in a Cathedral I enjoy it so much I doubled the time I play my flute.

Failed after a half dozen uses
I love the design and portability of this flute mic, and it sounded pretty great the few times I got to use it, but the RE-10 receiver gave out after only a handful of uses, two gigs and four or so tests at home - it turns on only while the power button is held, then it immediately shuts off as soon as I let go of the switch. I tried contacting Acemic via email then on Facebook. I heard back only on my second attempt via Facebook and was told to ask for help here. The problem is there doesn't seem to be a logical way to contact the company here on Amazon. Unfortunately, I got frustrated and busy and waited too long, but I would like to get this resolved. Spending almost $200 on something that doesn't work is way too much money to waste. I would gladly revoke this bad review if the company will get back to me with clear instructions on either a repair or replacement for the faulty part. I hope you all are listening. Fingers crossed...

Great sound
I love the sound of this wireless microphone for flute. It also has plenty of battery life to perform with at gigs. I would recommend this for any gigging musician.

Good Working Unit, could be a Game Changer
We have been using this unit with a Full Range three-way PA in a Rock Band with Flute setting. This DT-5 units' sound quality is good. Of course being live, we EQ, Compress, Gate this unit then add some Reverb as Flute sounds so good with. Is it as good as playing the flute on an SM58 ?? no, however with the aforementioned processing, it's a Winner. The unit is velco'd on to the tenon of the flutes body, (this moves down too easily) the best mic head placement is just off the corner of the mouthpiece, if you can play the flute and slightly feel the head of the mic at the right corner of your lip, that is the best placement. I use a hair elastic to help keep the mic there, and use a pass of electrical tape after the velcro so nothing moves. The Transmitters "Rat-tail" Antenna is flimsy and can get caught in the first few keys/mechanism on the flute. Is there any practical way to shorten that up?The Receivers screw in Antenna is much higher quality, good work there.Thoughts:Offer a "Pro"version with the "Pro" Receiver1) output being XLR and 1/4"2) be a 110v powered (no need to be rechargeable)3) maybe with a built-in charging doc for the Transmitter4) rack mount options"Pro" Transmitter1) add a heavy duty spring loaded flute shaped clip (as opposed to velcro) Flutes are mostly the same diameter so this should be somewhat standard2) find and alternative to the Rat Tail Antenna3) Have a mic mute function on the transmitterCheck it out, do a search, even most of the big names in wireless don't market a wireless specifically for Flute. The manufacturer of this unit is very close to a Home Run, they could own the niche' of "Professional Flute Wireless" with those changes listed above.

Defective!
I thought I would give it a try again, after its been put away for months, and sure enough nothing has changed - after charging for a couple hours the unit still does not work. The company was contacted with no refund to my account or possibility to get a product that works. I do not recommend this flute mic, although it looks promising. The picture included shows that the green light on the mic does not ever go on even after being charged indicating that it is not working and this is confirmed when I try to use it.
