Decent replacement cylinder for Herman Miller Aeron chair
I purchased this cylinder as a replacement for the one that had failed on my Herman Miller Aeron Chair. It is a good replacement that is pretty close in fit and range to the original. Time will tell how it holds up, but I think it is as good as any other generic replacement cylinder.Just an observation about replacement cylinders in general:The maximum and minimum height and the length of the body are not the only dimensions of concern. The position of the tapered area on the body can easily vary an inch or more from model to model, and this dimension is never given in the specs. On the cylinder I purchased, this tapered area was about an inch lower on the cylinder than the original. As such the bottom of the cylinder is about an inch higher from the floor, and thus the effective overall length of the cylinder is an inch greater. Fortunately, cylinder fit and range is rarely a precise concern. As long as you can get your preferred position, it rarely matters if this point is in the middle or a little towards one end of the height range or the other.Edit:Another word of caution on fitment. I just purchased a second cylinder for another chair that I had (brand unknown but it was made in Canada). Unlike the Aeron chair with its metal base, this chair had a plastic base. This plastic base did NOT hold the cylinder on its long shallow taper as the metal base did, but held the cylinder on the small short tapered end at the very bottom. Understandably, the vertical force on the long shallow taper would likely put too much force on the bore in the plastic base, and either split it or stretch it out. This MYFULLY replacement cylinder was larger on the bottom end than the original cylinder was, and it would not seat into the bottom of the plastic base. I was able to grind out the bottom lip of the base with a rotary tool to get it to fit though, but this isn't something the average consumer would be able to do. As I did not measure the bottom of the cylinder before installing it, I cannot post its exact diameter, but it was somewhere around 1.71" Just be aware that if your chair has a plastic base, you may have an issue with any replacement cylinder, regardless of its brand.

Does it's job. Gloves didn't come included
I needed to extend the height of my chair which for some reason didn't come with a tall enough cylinder.

Works as advertised...
Perfect replacement for an old chair that kept sinking to the ground. Just does the job as expected and at a great price. So much cheaper than replacing the chair.

Worked for a few months, now failing
I purchased this to replace a failing cylinder in my office chair. My chair would slowly creep downward until I was looking up to see my computer screen. It worked, for a while. Now, 6 months later, I am creeping down again. Wasted my money.

Packaged well but chair feels slightly loose
Something in the it causes the chair to feel slightly loose when sitting. It looks & feels rigid when assembled, but as soon as you sit in the chair it'll feel slightly loose (chair rocks side to side by like ¼ inch). Double checked all the bolts a few days later, and checked to make sure the cylinder is all the way into the base & the upper section, and they're all tight. Chair still feels loose. It's certainly usable, the air spring works as expected, but the looseness is a little distracting every time I move.
