A great STEM tool to learn about frequencies
An extremely good starter kit for learning how to solder.

fun kit with the tools included!
Me and my grandson (15) had great fun with this. I did the first solder, and he did all the rest, with me holding things to make it easier. The radio worked first time! Took about 3 or 4 hours. It's great that it comes with the soldering iron, solder and even snips to cut off the excess wires. Instructions are good, and even contain detailed lessons on electronic theory if you are interested, although you don't need to read those to build the kit.

A great learning experience
If you want a quality working frequency modulation device (or FM radio) then you should buy a pre-assembled unit. You have to accept the fact that this device may (or may not) work correctly when completed. It's a learning project for beginners. I've read some reviews saying that this isn't for beginners but, in my opinion, it's perfect for beginners. At first it looks intimidating but after you read the instructions a few times and solder your first few discap capacitors it's just a matter of time before you get the hang of it. It took me five hours. When finished it worked great for about thirty minutes. That was enough time for me to take a video and upload it to social media. Now it has stopped picking up signals but it served its purpose.

WE make Works!
I have been assambling it little by little and teaching kids about the components and what they do.Well planed quality components and very informative. The end product works and the bonus is that the kids loved working on it.Many many hours of fun! making it.Thank you for this relatively easy yet challenging kid.

Great project!
My 18 year old put this together to learn more about soldering & electronics. He had fun doing it, and the radio worked very well. Highly recommend. The only difficulty he had was with the battery case. It was hard to get the battery out, so he suggests to be gentle with that.

So happy I spent the time and money to do this
I had a blast making this kit. Took me roughly 4 hours, but the last hour was trouble shooting why the stations weren't coming in. Turns I had a bad connection for the 4 looped coil. I double checked all my soldering connections and it started working great. I'm 25 years old an never soldered or did anything like this. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow.

The soldering iron doesn’t work great – it doesn’t get hot enough
I think it needs to come with it. Better soldering iron for the students to be more successful.

Was a good learning experience for grandson but in the end it didn't work for us.
My husband bought this for a project for him and our 7 year old grandson. It was interesting and a great project for both of them but you really should have some soldering skills. That was the most difficult part. Unfortunately one of their solders wasn't done properly because it does not work. Don't know what sheerness, thickness and warmth has to do with the review, so I didn't comment on that.
