FOR A PERSON WHO HATES MASK, THIS WAS GREAT. DURING COVID WEARING MASKS WAS MISERABLE FOR ME IT WAS ALLWAYS HOT AND HUMID ON MY FACE. IM JUST GETTING INTO WOOD WORKING AND WOOD FINISHING AND THIS IS GREAT BECAUSE IT PROVIDES A CONTINUOUS FLOW OF AIR AND IT STAYS COOL NO HUMMIDTY OR GLASS FOGGING!

Much More Comfortable Than Basic Masks!
I am asthmatic. Regular masks leave my mouth, throat, lungs feeling dry and hot. This mask has power to push gentle airflow into your mask through a filter, giving you MUCH cooler air to breath and doesn't leave you struggling to draw air through mask material.

It blows a gentle breeze onto your nose and mouth.
It not the worst idea, But its not a completely sealed system so you can imagine its ok for the price.Pros:*It blows a gentle breeze to lips and up nose. Making breathing feel fresh and not stuffy or less humid than without.*Decent battery lasts for me about 8hr work day.*Mask combination after removal gives a sense of dirt or dust in the air, could just be me but might indicate the n95 + hepa style filters do work very well.*Mask is not rough, at least to my skin.Cons:*Not 100 percent as smells still can pass through seals or face mask, like smoke smell. Tar roofing smells...etc...*Hepa cartridge is a pain to place on yourself securely and close enough for the length of the hose.*Feeder hose can kink and reduce airflow.*Design may not be for general public, you look like medical patient.Other thoughts if the fan was stronger it can create a cpap effect or positive pressure blowing cooler hepa air easily into your lungs. May require some type of sealed face mask with a one way pressure valve, As alternate design. And if the fan is stronger maybe can make a two stage filter. I work in a dusty warehouse and hot humid and near a well-traveled city road.

Hose brakes on everyone
if I could give this no stars I would the hose breaks so easy it’s uncomfortable when you do. I taped it together still, it’s too heavy for the face, not uncomfortable by your own risk.

Filtering works well, usability poor
This works decently, but due to a few usability concerns it is not very reliable.I tested that this does, in fact, clean the air. I used a particle meter and an ultrasonic mister. I verified that when the source air had ~600ug/L of PM10 particulates, the output air had 0ug/L of measured PM10. So, the filtration part of this does in fact work. However, as other reviewers have noted, there are a few issues:- No warning before device turns off - this is huge. When the device runs out of batteries, it just stops. It should beep to alert the user some time before actually turning off. Otherwise, you may be breathing unfiltered air. It *should* fall back to the protection of the mask that you're using, but the torque of the air hose likely disrupts the seal and means that you're not getting nearly as much protection.- Hose easily collapses - I haven't found this to typically restrict airflow too much, but it would be better to use an anti-kink hose- Filter side of device is flat, so when wearing as a lanyard, it easily suctions on to clothes, blocking flow- No indicator to change the filter - the manual recommends 500 hours, the device could easily have a light for to tell you when this is needed- Hose friction-fits onto the device and mask lug, which is not very secure. If the hose falls off, you are breathing unfiltered air. These should have a positive locking mechanism. With all that said, I am still using this, as there are not very many options for PAPRs. But I am cautious when using it, and even then these problems make this device less safe.

a brilliantly engineered affordable device
Whoever in Shenzen designed this product has done the rest of us a great service because the device is affordable, reliable and amazingly effective. It combines commodity components like a high-velocity fan and repurposed KN-95 face masks in a simple, generously equipped package that works extremely well.I used a portable air quality sensor to test the effectiveness of this filter earlier this week when Philadelphia, where I live, was blanketed for several days with dangerously dense smoke from forest fires in Quebec to our north. Before trusting my lungs to this little filter, I did a test by filling a Ziploc bag outdoors with smoky air. I put a portable air-quality detector in the bag and measured PPM 2.5 of about 280, which would’ve made me choke if I hadn’t been wearing a different (bulky but known-safe) respirator to conduct the test.I inserted the hose from this $40 powered filter into the Ziploc bag and zipped it mostly shut. Within 60 seconds or so, the bag had been completely flushed as the PPM dropped to zero. Sorry I didn’t record a video but I was more concerned with my safety and hadn’t been planning to post a review. With this unit I was able to do hours of work outside during the worst of the smoke storm, and the only time I smelled the wretched stuff was when I went outside having forgotten to turn on the fan.I had to keep the power level at two and sometimes three (full power) to keep all traces of smoke away from my lungs, especially after the wind picked up.This little thing was amazing from start to finish, and I found it far easier to breathe with the filter’s positive pressure compared to using my own effort to suck air through a conventional mask.I’m sad to need it, yet I’m thrilled to have found a reliable source of breathable air.

Works as intended and helps me breathe
I was unable to wear any regular masks because I get asthma attacks from fighting for air and breathing in fibers. This blows air right near my mouth and nose so I don’t have to fight the mask to breathe, and because I’m not sucking air through the material to breathe the fibers aren’t being breathed in. I was able to wear it without having an attack. Only problem is when I run out of filters sooner or later I don’t know how to buy replacements for it.It does smell like factory when opened but if you run it a few times for hours that dissipates.
