Whirlpool compact 1/2 horse garbage disposal
Nice little unit that does the job that a large clumsy disposal does. Easy install and quieter then my old unit.

Very powerful unit priced right.
Replacing an Insinkerator "Badger 5" which lasted. six years. Leaking through motor.Bought this Frigidaire.PROS: Powerful 3/4 hp motorStainless steel grinding chamber and blades.Exterior enclosure to reduce noise. Much quieter.Price as within $15 of the Badger 5. WowFits existing insinkerator mount. Did not need to remove/replace itHas a unique magnetic band which fits around the unit to help revent metal object from being chewed up or hurled back at you. Referred to as the Silver Band or similar....humorous in than silver is non magnetic.Took under 45 minutes to remove old and install new. Trimmed ABS as noted above. Plug is attached to unit. Plug and Play...or Plug and Grind!TEN YEAR WARRANTY! Very happy with it.CONS: (Very Minor, just to note)Due to sound enclosure, unit is wider. Required a 3/4" shortening of cross flow ABS pipe.Mounting plate to discharge pipe is metric. "old" unit bolts won't fit. Comes with all new hardware.Made in China.

Happy with the performance after several months of daily use
Very sturdy, no vibration. It is fairly quiet even though I have a stainless sink which doesn't muffle sound as well as my own cast iron sink did. Would buy again.

Super quiet and works, but the magnet ring thing seems ineffective
This thing got consumer reports top rating last time they tested garbage disposals, so after deciding to finally install a garbage disposal I figured we’d give this a try rather than buying one of the more traditional ISE ones for double the price. So far it seems to work great and it’s very quiet. It’s almost silent when running “empty” (water only) and the only time you get noise is when it has stuff to grind. Even the grinding noises are muffled somewhat. The only gripe I have is the the effectiveness of their magnetic silverware guard ring thing seems greatly exaggerated. I’m unsure if its because they used magnets that are too weak, or if our silverware just lacks iron content, or both, but attempting some tests it really doesn’t seem like the magnets do much. I’d say the rubber skirt thing does more to prevent spoon-grinding accidents than the magnets.- anything dropped directly in the center of the drain is going in. Magnets do nothing, rubber does nothing because there an open hole there.- something sliding along the bottom of the sink is more likely to get diverted away from the drain hole, but not if it’s made of non-ferrous alloy that isn’t attracted to magnets. This includes stuff like aluminum as well as stainless steel (which contains ether much less iron compared to carbon steel or sometimes no iron).- as previously mentioned, I think the thick heavy rubber skirt does more than anything else to prevent stuff from accidentally going down than any magnets do. But since that’s so heavy, the magnets only need to do a little diversion to keep something from hitting the small open center hole. Unfortunately they can’t even do that to a spoon or fork containing no iron.So I’d probably give this 5 stars if it weren’t for the exaggerated claims about the silverware guard. The heavy rubber and magnets do help some but you’re still going to have to maintain the same level of vigilance to prevent a spoon-grinding incident. Do not depend on this feature at all or some spoons and forks are getting rekt.

This bad boy could eat your previous disposal for breakfast
I bought this to replace an Insinkerator Badger (3/4 horsepower) that died after only 3 years, and I could not be happier. The Frigidaire, with 1.25 horsepower, is clearly in a different weight class. Instead of the loud, gargly, sink-vibrating sound you're probably used to, this disposal emits a steady, low growl that just feels more stable and confident.Installation was easy, except that it took me a moment to realize that the provided elbow joint connecting to the drain port had slightly different dimensions from my existing setup. I just used the existing plumbing connection and the existing sink connection, and I had the whole thing done in less than 30 minutes. And the 10-year warranty gives me peace of mind knowing I won't have to do this again for a while.

Installed on my 91st birthday. I am pretty sure it will outlast me!
My son installed this disposal. He is very handy but not a pro. It went in very easily and did not present any problems. He replaced the new part that goes up into the sink and uses a better setup than the one that was there. I was very happy with the disposal and pleased that is turned out to be a very nice piece of equipment, as far as we can tell in such a short time. I really liked the slender shape of the item and it gave me more room under the sink.
