Q: Looks like chrome in pic. Isbit brushed nickle or chrome?

It didn't matter to us if it were brushed or chrome it is a perfect replacement reading light for our camper. Love the dimming feature and the blue night light. It is a chrome finished light.

Q: how come this light does not work in my RV

That's impossible to answer without more information. Did you install it according to the directions? Is the fuse good? Do you have 12 volts at the light? If you're not sure about any of the above, probably best to take it to someone who knows about electricity.
