Silicone Makeup Sponge by UltimateBeauty - Applicator & Blender for all Liquid Foundation, Highlighter Makeup, Primer, and Creams (Leaf)

I had originally left a 1 star review on this item as the cost of it wasn't worth the time to try to return/replace. However, the seller contacted me as I had clearly received a defected item and corrected the situation immediately. I had received a replacement for my defective silicone sponge within a week and have now been able to use it daily without any issues and no breakage! I highly recommend this sponge if you're interested in this beauty blogger fad.

After readying all the reviews of how you just have to use a silicone sponge to apply makeup, I decided to cave and buy one to try. I'm in my 50's. I've seen makeup come a long way from the 1970's when I first began purchasing products. Remember the old orange liquid foundations? Been there, done that. Several years ago, I moved to the mineral powder foundation and I really like them but to me, it is more for everyday use. For more formal occasions, I still like the liquid or creme foundations. When the sponge arrived, I decided to "gussy" myself up and encourage my husband to take me out mid-week for a nice dinner. Until I used a silicone sponge, I applied my creme foundation with my fingertips. I don't know that I used less makeup with the sponge but I liked the feel of it on my face and it seems to work as well as my fingers. Had I been a brush user (for makeup other than mineral powders) I might have liked it more but I will continue to use it. It was easier to clean than my fingers afterwards and the application seemed to last with no ill effects. One plus if you use sponges to apply foundation--this one doesn't absorb any of the makeup. Is this the be all and end all of makeup application? Probably not, at least for me but if you're considering trying one, they are certainly cheap enough to warrant the chance.

This thing sucks. I got this because I don't like that my beautyblender absorbs so much foundation. While it's true that this slab of silicone doesn't absorb anything, it doesn't do any good either! The complete lack of texture makes it useless to blend with, and the silicone is actually very hard, so it barely is able to smear makeup over the flattest part of the face: this looks much worse than just using hands. Throwing this thing away!

Works great! There is less wate of one's make-up. ..nothing get's absorbed into a sponge applicator ...

This is interesting...it definitely does not sheer out or soak up product like a beauty blender/sponge so that is great. It's also more sanitary and easy to easy. BUT its just weird, lol I would not really recommend it, but it does apply foundation and concealer as good as any sponge or brush but its not really as easy to use as the aforementioned tools. Get it if you are interested in this gimmick.....

I would recommend searching YouTube to see if anyone else has used this type of applicator with your specific foundation of choice. Apparently, this works great with certain foundations and other types of makeup. However, this does not work well at all with Femme Couture's 8 in 1 Get Flawless from Sally Beauty. This is a liquid foundation that dries with a powder finish... The silicone left this with streaks and did not blend well at all. I'm sticking with my flat foundation brush.

Works just like it says it will. Use minimum amount of foundation now. Ill never need to buy another make up sponge again in my life! Only thing I've noticed is my skin is super dry since I've started using the sponge 2 weeks ago. That is the only thing I've changed as far as my routine goes. But I can't be sure it's from that.

The silicone sponge is great, will just take time to get used too it!!

Blends foundation nicely and you need very less product coz it doesn't soak product

Its not a great product but one can buy if they want to give silicone sponge a try

Not usefull at all.. sponge puff is better than this.
