Great sharpener
This is the best sharpener for a great price , very pleased how it works , it's quite , sharpend the chain like new or better, .I never was good at sharpening chainsaw chains and going through slot of chains cause of being crooked , uneven , this sharpener gets it even with the right angle , and with ease , easy set up , highly recommended this sharpener.

Sharpens your chain regardless of the cutter angle. Also takes care of the rakers too.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! This sharpener will sharpen the cutters and shorten the rakers when needed. The dials on the top lets you set the proper angle and adjust the height acurately.

Works great
A well built tool. I have used it 4 times now and it worked perfectly every time. The motor vibrates which makes it seem cheap, the motors in a mototool, which I was using before have a better balance. If you are sharpening a Stihl 3/8" chain you will need to get the 13/64" grinding stone because the kit doesn't come with one.

For people like me
So, I needed to sharpen three chainsaw blades. Looked on YouTube for ideas. Some were Dremel knock offs with a grinder guide, some were round files with a guide. This one intrigued me because it clamped to the chain guide, it had a guide rod, and the angle could be adjusted as needed. The grinder/motor is like a dremel in the way the bit attaches, but it is permanently attached to the guide system. The one thing I didn’t realize was the power cord is wired to hook up to the posts of a 12v battery with no way to plug it into a wall socket. I’m guessing this was done do you could take the sharpener with you to a remote area and use your vehicle battery to run it. I just happen to have a trolling battery sitting around the garage, so I used that. Something to be aware of.It was the most expensive of the choices, but looked to be the least frustrating to use, which is my most important consideration. I bought it and quickly realized it was more complicated than it first looked. The instructions were not very helpful as I felt I needed an engineering degree to make sense of them. A few frustrating minutes later, I got back on YouTube to watch a tutorial made by the company. That helped immensely. After getting it setup correctly on my chainsaw, it was then a matter of practicing with it until I became comfortable using it. I was then able to sharpen all three blades and bring them back to their original sharpness. So, would I recommend it? Yes, I would. Once I got past the learning curve, it was a fast and accurate way to sharpen the blades.
