Set Male & Female Extension Cord Replacement Electrical End Plugs 3-Wire Pack

These replacement plugs work great, usually when an extension cord goes bad it is right at the prefabricated ends. Anyone can install these and your cords will be as good or better than new. To be honest I bought these originally because they are so much cheaper than buying a new extension cord. But in the end my cords were as good or better than buying new cords and another plus was I was doing good for the environment rather than throwing the old ones away. So basically a win win situation. Sometimes we are better off fixing what we have rather than throwing it in the trash. The environment will thank you.

I think these are great. They can accommodate 12 gauge cords, the screw terminals clamp the wire just fine (metal to metal). I particularly like how the outside is all rubber (the black part) and plastic (the yellow part).No need for a metal housing which can become energized if a short happens.I've been a contractor for 27 years and I did read the negative comments , but now that i have received the product I don't understand their reasons for a 1 star rating. No need for the screw terminals to be marked "black" and brass, use google, or perhaps you aren't experienced enough to be messing with this. Tip, the big terminal (male or female) is for the white wire (aka neutral).The part where the cord is clamped down by the plug housing is preset for a very small cord. This "plug" can be removed for an extension cord which isn't for something skinny like a lamp cord. This is a plus, not a negative. I want the whole cord to fit into the plug. This can do it (12 gauge no problem).The complainers need to spend $15 for a name brand...pure and simple. ( i can buy a new cord for that price!)p.s. I knew I was going to receive a single male and a single female plug...I read the descriptive text!

These replacement plugs are OK for 16 or just barely 14 gauge extension cords. Not for 12 gauge.

7/2/18 just arrived arrived in mailbox June 28 order!$5.14 from Tenka 1.Read a lot of reviews...here is mine!I have not yet wired these up yet but carefully check out all connections!Now I won't use these on a lamp cord, a little large for that!Will use on a 12 gauge cord. Thanks for other reviews will use care not to over tighten!Look! Negative reviews seem to be over rated! These are fine! Just be careful when wiring them!Or get someone else to wire them for you! Will see over time if the female plastic end can withstand hitting, say, a concrete floor!Cheap they may be. But for many applications will work great! Hole designed for lamp cord not 3 wire extension cord, I had to modify it.

Bought this to repair an extension cord that always gets pulled out of the wall in use and finally lost it's grounding prong.I immediately was not impressed by the squidgy rubber construction that made it just feel flimsy, then once I took it apart I was surprised by the lack of any indication differentiating the hot and neutral wires (only to be further annoyed that no one writing which wire goes to which prong on the internet ever bothered to draw a diagram) And then once you have the wires in and are attempting to put it back together the rubber construction makes it almost impossible to line up the screws with the sockets and barely does anything to retain the screw, so I'm pretty sure the same use the previous plug suffered for a decade would destroy this first time out.

Yep, they work great.

Super easy and straightforward to install. Takes a screwdriver and wire strippers/ clippers. Made my old sketchy cord safe again!
