Much Better Reception
I was skeptical that a new antenna would help. I was picking up very little on my scanner. I've tried another antenna besides the one that came with my Whistler TRX-1 but this new antenna really made a difference. I'm picking up so many more calls that I ever have. This one really worked for me. I really recommend it!

Amazing Range
Bought this antenna for my Uniden BC125AT after reading reviews of other buyers recommending to replace the antenna that comes with the scanner. I can normally pick up traffic 15-20 miles away as long as it’s airborne at a decent altitude, 8-10,000ft or higher and have even heard comms from a C-130 on the departure frequency at 23 miles from my location!! I can pick up the tower frequency for my local airport while I’m 1 to 1-1/2 miles away in my car. Great antenna, worth the buy if you have a handheld scanner that you use at your local municipal or international airport!

Train scanner antenna
My son wanted this antenna for his train scanner. He said that he now has a greater range and stronger signal.

The antenna has good flexibility and elasticity.
It seems that the performance can only be fully assessed after using it while moving, following the antenna upgrade. Aesthetically, it looks great.

SBS 100 with REQUIRED adapter.
Amazing improvement to the Uniden Bearcat SBS100. I know many others are talking about range.Living in suburban Washington, DC, range is not an issue for me (everyone is bang on top of one another). That said, the improvement was one of CLARITY.I am the son of a career Marine, and served in the Corps myself, so my hearing is absolute crap after an entire life in and around loud noises. This antennae VASTLY improves the sound quality to a point I do not even need my hearing aids. All above said, should you have the SBS100, you will need purchase the little $4 adapter to make it fit (illustrated in photo).I wish I could tell you what the adapter is called, though I simply pulled it out of my tool box and have absolutely no recollection of where, or when, I purchased it.I simply read other reviews stating the same re: the SBS100 and the adapter is four bucks.

*The* 2m/70cm HT antenna to get
I was HT-less for many years; a major reason for my purchase of a Yaesu FT-60 last year was having a backup to my cell phone in case I was hiking somewhere and needed help; in NC, we have an excellent network of VHF and UHF machines that can be relied upon to have someone listening in case you get into trouble. I took the Yaesu into the field, and – was this thing working? I couldn’t even reach repeaters I knew had excellent coverage. Once I determined that the radio itself wasn’t broken, I considered how the stock antenna might be improved upon. From my experience with a VX-5R in the mid ‘00s, I knew that I’d rather have a BNC connector living permanently on my HT, if for no other reason than to provide an easy way to hook a J-pole or other “full size” antenna to it if the need arose. Fortunately, Steve Gulyas, KC2BHO, is still making the same SMA-BNC adapters that I had on my previous Yaesu – they’re the best I’ve used.So how does the RH-77CA perform, and should you get one? Without question, this antenna makes my FT-60 usable for the purpose I bought it for. Marginal repeaters become very copyable, strong ones are full quieting, and ones I couldn’t even hear before are accessible. It also helps for out-of-ham-band uses, too; as soon as I installed it, 3-4 more NOAA weather stations were audible. As a hiker, being able to hear as much as I can from surrounding counties could be the difference between being prepared and being caught without warning of a storm. If you have a dual-band HT, get one!

Nice little antenna for HT
I've had this about a year. I'm not huge into radio, but have a HAM license. Another buddy and I have played around, using repeaters and just testing direct using HT's.I've got a RT-82 and LOS he's easily been able to clearly hear me out to 2-3 miles. When I got even about 3ft of elevation he was able to pick me up out to about 5 mi through rolling corn and bean fields. When we've testing via repeaters we've been 30 mi apart. Him from his house with a 10ft antenna on his garage, but me 15 miles away from the repeater and sitting in my tri-level split house in the office 1/2 set into the ground. We've also testing when he's been driving and uses a magnetic antenna on his car. We've easily reached 50-60 mi bouncing off of the same repeater.Certainly it's better than my old duck antenna...
