Great footrest, very comfortable
I like it. I am so much more comfortable sitting at my desk now. The footrest is weighty, and its made of heavy duty plastic with a firm memory foam top. For some reason, the memory foam top is removable. Not sure why that is since you can't buy a replacement, not that you would ever need to anyways, it seems very durable. The footrest is fully adjustable, but the mechanisms could be updated. This particular footrest has been made by Kensington for a many, many years. I understand the idea of not fixing something if it works, but these mechanisms can definitely be improved. The tilt mechanism is easy, but the height adjustment takes a little patience..its very unintuitive, but it works. What I like most? As thin as it is, I really like the memory foam under my feet, its the right amount of cushion. And I like the size of this footrest. Its big enough that I can fidget a bit and my feet are still on it. As for price, it seems a bit expensive for what it is, but its being shipped for free, so maybe the price is ok. If you can catch it on sale, 20-25 percent off, its a better buy. Utimately, this footrest is the perfect solution for me, a huge relief to my discomfort when sitting at my desk..

Kensington Foot Rest
Wife loves it, that's all that counts. She is a 4' 11" so, she has to raise the chair but her feet dangle or she scoots to the end of the chair. Neither are very comfortable. So, I thought I would try this footrest, and it worked out great. She's happy, I'm happy.

Kensington Smartfit SoleMate version - perfect!
Just to be clear, this review is for the SoleMate/Smartfit model - not the SoleMassager/Exerciser or SoleSaver/Basic versions.I received this product last week and I love it! I was a little worried that it would be too soft with the memory foam on top but it's not.I was also a little worried about the plastic breaking but it hasn't so far. Will update if it does. It's pretty easy to adjust - you just have to turn the knobs on the sides - the only thing I will say about that though is be careful not to twist them too far otherwise the nuts and washers come off pretty easily. But once you have it to your desired height/tilt, it should be fine - I haven't had to adjust it since then. It's nice because it stays firmly in place on the carpet as well. The only downside to that is if you need to physically move it to the left or right you can't do that just with your feet - you need to bend down and do it.But again, once you have the height, tilt, and exact place on the ground where you want it, you shouldn't need to move/adjust it very much.I also love how wide this platform is!I got this product after first trying the Amazon basics foot rest because it looked really sturdy. But when I got it, it wasn't tall enough for me and the kind of office chair I have (I'm 5'4") and wasn't height adjustable. So that's why I returned it and got this Kensington one instead.Attached is a picture of both foot rests for comparison.

Improved my life by a mile
This is extremely comfortable, I had a plastic one that broke out and I replaced it with this, this is amazing, it feels great on the foot and it feels heavy - not easy to move around - like it should be, which is awesome. I am extremely satisfied!

Bad set up instructions and defective knob
INstructions for set-up are incomprehensible. From the instructions it looks like turning the knob will adjust the height. Not so. THey don't tell you that you need to loosen knobs on both sides and then pull up with all your might. You need to be very strong to pull the piece up to adjust the height. Then it turns out my left knob can't be tightened so the left side falls down again. I've had to prop it up with ugly cardboard. I did reach a support person who told me how to do it or I would NEVER have figured it out. In the end he told me to return it since knob defective. It is so heavy not sure I am up to that. I'll see. Very disappointed.

Great product. Questionable seller.
In terms of functionality, quality and design, this footrest is great. Immensely helps when sitting at a desk for an extended period of time. The adjustments are easy to make and it stays in place firmly. With that said, the reason for two stars taken off, is that this is clearly a product that has already been used. There are signs of use/wear on the side of the product, the foam pad itself has scuffs and the rubber pads on the feet of the item are covered in dirt/debris that came from outside the box that it was shipped in.Seems as if this was a returned item, perhaps? Now maybe this was a "quality control" tested item and that explains the signs of use. Either way, I paid for something that is supposed to be brand new out of the box and that's not what this is.Quality of the product: 5/5Quality of the seller: 3/5Buyer beware
