Original DVD Drive LITE-ON DG-16D4S DG-16D5S HW 9504 Replacement for Xbox 360 Slim

The media could not be loaded. Works wonderfully. All the bad reviews appear to be from people who didn't install it correctly or are upset about when the product was manufactured. Look, this drive is for older consoles; so yes, they will have been manufactured during that time as well. But for me this works great and after swapping the daughterboards I couldn't be happier.

The DVD Drive LITE-ON for XBox 360 slim does not work for the XBox 360 games out of the box. There are additional changes that have to be made within the DVD drive. I do not condone voiding your warranty, but I want to make sure future purchasers are aware.Once the drive was altered and installed in our 360 slim, it worked amazingly. I swear the video is better and is less glitchy than it was before.Great buy.

To start product did not come with the T8/T10 security tools, with expedited shipping it took seven days to arrive then when i looked at the product I could see that it was Not 100%.brand new, casing had old grime on it looks worse than my 4 yr old drive inside and out!This issue was fixed , thank you for great customer service!

First, off let me start by saying my DVD ROM in my current 360 slim hadn't died yet, although I can tell it's on it's way out. It is having intermittent "unrecognizable disc" issues. It still works for most of my games but the games have to be in pristine condition in order for it to read them. I have a few games which are not like this and it's a real pain to get my current DVD ROM to read these- I've been having to spam the open/close train in hopes it'll finally read it and play it and have had some success doing this. But because of these issues I knew my DVD ROM was on it's way out so I decided to replace it... Not a bad idea I thought, except the one I purchased here is WORSE than my current one.I did everything correctly. I've taken electronics courses in college and soldering wires/installing ribbon cables is a no brainer. The new drive I received looked brand new, from the outside. It was shrink wrapped and none of the sticker's around the case had their seal broken. I proceeded to open the new DVD ROM so I could remove it's mobo and place my original mobo into the new unit. Upon opening it I noticed that it looked as though it had been tampered with. The wires in which I have to unsolder from the mobo were not pressed down and neatly tucked away like I would have expected from a new unit. The wires looked as though they had already been previously worked on. Despite seeing this, I decided to try it anyway. I unsoldered the mobo in the current "new" DVD ROM, placed my old mobo in it's place, put it all back together with very high anticipations. Went to play a game I had been having issues with before and sure enough, I got the dreaded "unrecognizable disc" error. So I decided to play one of my games which is in new condition with no scratches, and yet again I received "unrecognizable disc" error.At this point I'm pretty ticked off that I've wasted this time but needed a running xbox. So I swapped the mobo's between the 2 drives once again, put back in my old DVD ROM and it worked just like it was before. I was still getting the intermittent unrecognizable disc with the games I expected to have this issue with but my new games played fine, and booted right up.I am returning the item immediately for a full refund. I will look for another replacement drive but I WILL NOT buy from this seller ever again.If only I could be reimbursed for my hassle and wasted time... UHHG!

I was hoping to switch out the old one that got busted for a new one and it would work just like the old one did before it broke. I was wrong. I installed it into the Xbox, put everything back together and was able to play movie for my kids, but as soon as we tried to play a video game meant for the xbox, it wouldn't work. I know I put everything back together the way it was supposed to go. So, needless to say, I spent about $60 on a replacement part and then my hubby went and spent $$ on a new Xbox 360. I will be selling the old xbox for parts, or as a whole unit for some techy to fix and resell/use.

This product was exactly what we were looking for to replace our old hard drive. The seller was fantastic! We were accidentally sent the wrong item and they replaced it immediately without any question. They even sent it as fast as they could so that we had it in time to give as a gift for our son. I would definitely purchase items from this seller again and highly recommend them to others.

The drive came with a link to a You Tube video. The video explained swapping the drive boards as opposed to flashing the new board. This was easily done. The new drive functions well, and is much quieter when operating than the original.

I will preface by saying I only ended up using the drive for it's mechanical parts. I had difficulty trying to flash firmware and such without additional hardware so I simply removed the controller board from this DVD drive and replaced it with the one from the original damaged drive. Worked like a charm!
