OMG. I can turn the heater on from my bed! What more does one need to know to get 5 stars.

I love how easy it was to install, even with an house that's over 20 years old all you had to do is follow the amazingly simple instructions, they include a photo of which wire goes in what port, and all you had to do is basically snap it in. So no twisting wires!After that the nest will sense the wires you installed.I've had no problems with any type of delay in turning the AC up or down and the phone app is extremely useful (especially if you forget to raise the temperature before you leave the house like I do) if you dont like doing manual temperature changes, it will learn your day to day pattern and do it itself. However if you have a very random schedule like I do, you'd probably turn it off which defeats the purpose of the "learning" aspect in my opinion.The one thing I wish I could change is the lowest temperature setting for ecomode, the minimum is 75, which is great for most people but I have an elder dog that doesn't fair well in that temperature. Plus any warmer than that can cause mold growth (especially in high humidity climaxes like I live in) so I like to air on the safer side. But that's definitely not a deal breaker and probably just unrealistic on my part for an ecomode.Other than that I throughly enjoy getting the energy reports from the nest and the different "screen savers" like the clock, current weather reports, or just the current temp in the house Plus you can make it where it displays any of these whenever you walk by or approach it, and it does it amazingly well.It also has a safety feature that if you turn the air on and off without delay it will have a timer (usually about 2 minutes) before itll send the signal for your ac to kick back on. If that's a good thing or not is up to you.I also recommend buying a different back plate off of amazon because the white one is comes with is...not great and takes away from the high quality feeling the nest has.Needless to say I'm very happy with my purchase and get comments of how good looking it is all the time!

I bought this knowing in advance I could install this with the least amount of knowledge going in as possible and without having a C wire. Nest allows you to enter your current wiring set-up and actually shows you how you will wire your Nest, so it's fail safe and dummy proof - skip the pro-install - I'm a 45 year old DIY female, if I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!It connected to both my Alexa via App and Google Home with zero issues and I can control my Nest from any room using my voice and smart device (also I can control while away from home). I picked this over the competition because it's a learning thermostat and that was the feature I craved most, one that learns my behaviors and adapts to them, while suggesting helpful energy saving options.Some of my fav features are that I can walk near the unit and it clearly lights up so I can see it from a distance without having to get right up on it to see the temp. I also love that when my hubby leaves for work, while I'm still sleeping, it automatically senses it and turns the air up to 77...this for us, is a big money saving feature, usually he forgets to turn the air up in the AM when he leaves. We turn the AC down to 73 at night and he leaves at 6:30 AM and I get up at 9 am.) With this feature alone, this saves us 2.5 hours of AC run time. per day due to forgetfulness.

Installation was very easy, especially considering I have a 2 wire system (older system at home for heating only). Took less than 5 minutes to install. Love the copper ring style and I got the matching copper back plate to go with it and it looks awesome. Programming it into the Nest app was very easy. Integration into Alexa was just as easy. Ended up getting 3 of them altogether. Love the display and how it automatically turns on when you get closer to it. Love the fact that it shows what you set your thermostat at along with showing the current temperature in the house and outside the house as well.Considering that I have a heating only system, I'm looking forward to seeing how it really works when the colder months arrive.

Installed one in my living room, and I was very pleased With the performance, No more hassle, No more adjusting temperature. I just purchased a second one to be my second heat pump in the family room.
