Kelsen Original Royal Dansk Danish Butter Cookie Assortment, 5 Lbs

When the package arrived, the tin was pristine, no dents, no cracks. The cookies were fresh, unbroken (the half cookie noted in the photo is the one I took a bite from), and tasted great (NOTE: I do NOT have a gifted gourmet palette, smile). I wish everyone could receive this item as a gift!

These are excellent little snacks. I like to munch on in the afternoon or evening. The tin keeps them fresh for a couple of weeks.

The order page says Royal Dansk, and these are NOT Royal Dansk, they are Kelsen, NOT the same thing.This is a 5 lb. tin of Danish butter cookies, they taste fine, a bit stale maybe, but nothing an oven crisp wouldn't fix, not as good as Royal Dansk, but they might do for some,As with another reviewer I send these to far flung folks for the holidays and am planning my holiday mail out, so:1) Not as advertised - Kelsen not Dansk. This is a BIG deal/problem. Some of my crew are very picky about their cookies and there are different recipes, risk of nut allergies etc. that come into choosing which brand, they are not interchangeable!2) A bit stale, not "last years" stale I don't think, but they can go a bit off rather quickly if not stored cool enough, these would do in a pinch but still points off.3) I did not weigh the tin and it is too late now but it came with several of the cookie cups empty (?) Not sure what that's about.3)Broken cookie level was acceptably, a few but not many, however, with rougher handling, that could change significantly.4) Tin had insufficient packing and is dented, it will still close but not really gift worthy - I think my tin had gentler handling than another reviewer, but with rougher handling, there was little to prevent damage. We use a tin to store the year's cards, pictures and mementos, for a holiday diversion for future years family events - looking back type thing, I also use these tins to store all manner of small items - sets of table items like napkin holders, name card holders ect, sewing/knitting & handicraft projects - the list is endless, and as gift boxes for future years so part of the point of these is the tin, it needs to be decorative and intact, dented is a no go.5) Cute, unusual tin, tear drop shaped a plus on the tin decorative value6)Came quickly as indicated by prime shipping - I have to admit I do love prime shipping!So, this was a test, and they lost points for false advertising and packing, so this holiday I will go with someone else even thought these are a little cheaper and the unusual tin is nice. The risk of dented tins and destroyed stale cookies with the expected rough handling of the Holiday season is too high for me, plus I really am a stickler for "send me what you SAY you are sending me", different brands is a big deal.Hope this helps

Thank you for the lesson on the old saying - LESS IS MORE ! ! - when ordering 5 pound box of cookies I was impressed on the large resealable tin that accompany the cookies. Assuming that they would stay fresh throughout the holidays well my mistake for the assumption as soon as you on tape the tin & Open will be the last time you see it closed as I opened my container within an hour after receiving the package untaped and opened my tin to sample the cookies, which were in fact what I expected,HOWEVER when I proceeded to reseal and close 10 after sampling The struggle began Tin would not close! After about 7 to 8 frustrating Attempt s to close the Tin it was the 9Th attempt that 5 pounds of cookies went flying through out my dining roomI was horrified here I am in a wheelchair bending over picking up 5 pounds of sugar/ butter cookies under the table and chairs and baking racksimagine the amount of work necessary after a spelt like that dragging out the vacuum cleaner and then because of the sugar the mopping etc. etc. there is something called quiet quality control in which the vendors should I recommend they highly use! I would think if it was my business it would be my business to ensure that these tinshad a secure / tight seal ,prior to even thinking about putting any their product into it bottom line I end up with no product .that could never be used for anything. Furthermore with less then 10 cookies I experienced one of the worst night of acid reflux I had ever had in my life I could have eaten a whole onion, two pizzas with pepperoni and not have as much acid come up to my throat and feel like there would burn a hole right in my esophagus. After all I went through through the day and night with this episode The one thing all I kepthinking was that I ordered the same product for a family member at the same time I orderedmind as gift HOW Embarrassing too late to cancel so what do you do send him a container that they could put 5lbs of cookies into. Hoping they haven't already open the tin

Nothing better than butter cookies. These are great and the large tin is something I can use for storage.
