Works well for lifting the bed frame to access storage under the bed in our RV. A little hard to get them to move in synchronization, but once you get them moving they will close pretty fast as we have a very heave double mattress on it. Just don’t let go of it but expect the sudden motion on its way closed. Holds it up perfectly to close and access storage compartments. And make sure of your clearances so you do have to drill more holes when you find out the door will only open so far. 😌. Recommend making use of a helper to install.

Just installed Arana lifts on my roof and deck hatches. Amazing! Both open easily now, one hand. Wish I'd installed these years ago. Expert advice from Mina and Vigor at Arana was a great help. Neither of my hatches had existing lifts so had to figure out the resistance and geometry. I also needed the hatches to open to 90 and 110 degrees respectively which requires a different mounting orientation than a 45 - 60 degree opening. This also required a bit more resistance due to less leverage. Tip - start by mocking up your install on paper using total length open and compressed length when closed. Then replicate that on your hatch in pencil/sharpie and measure open and closed - crawl inside if you have to - be sure to allow for the height of the bracket. That was my approach and I got these perfect on the first try (well, drilled one wrong hole on the roof hatch). Used 15" 36/50lb lifts on the 80lb roof hatch and 20" 100lb lifts on my 6' long 140lb deck hatch. The Arana lifts are excellent quality, great customer service, and a great value. I'll be using them for replacements on my trucks and pretty everything else I have that needs lifts. Highly recommended!

I was kinda worried when I saw that this item has a higher return rate, however, I believe that is because people are not taking the weight of what they’re needing the struts to be installed on before ordering them. Weight what you’re needing them for and you should be good.

I used these to hold up a rather large door that opens vertically for a CNC enclosure I built. You can adjust the holding and closing pressure quite a bit by moving the location of the mounting brackets. They work great!

Ordered struts from ARANA for storage cabinet I have built. Lid weighs 93 pounds. Order was for a pair of 445N 20" struts. The vendor's description on Amazon specifically states they are for lids 85 to 110 pounds. I mounted them on the cabinet and lid. I am glad I had a safety strut in place when I released the lid because it came down very rapidly because they could not support the lid in any way, shape, or form.I began to check the order information, packaging, etc. to make sure I had not made an error. When I examined the shipping label on the plastic sleeve that contained the struts, I noticed the part description on the label had been altered. The load value 100 LB had been crossed out and the number 35 had been written above it in pen. No wonder the lid came down rapidly when I released it. I am assuming there was some kind of mix up during packaging somewhere during the process. Possibly the wrong label was put on the sleeve for a pair of 35 LB struts and it was manually corrected but the bar code was never updated.These struts are going back immediately for a refund. I will shop elsewhere for a proper pair of struts Be sure to read the label carefully if you purchased from ARANA.PS - If your life experience has taught you to be a skeptic like me your thoughts may be I did the overwrite.I can assure you T did not. It's so easy to return Amazon purchases it makes no sense to do so. Beside my printing has never been as good as what is on that label and now being in my mid 70's with arthritis in my fingers it's even worse.

They do have a strong compression in pushing downward and they get the job done in the lift.
