Excellent OBD2 Meter
Aside from ease of use and the multitude of real-time measurements, the real beauty of this meter is you don't have to lookup the check engine code - it does it for you when you display the code(s). Also impressive is how many different "interfaces" it is able to connect to as I had an older one that could not read my 2005 Toyota Avalon. Every car I've tried this on works like a charm. Good meter and good value.

Great use but not so simple
Simple enough, but not so simple you can figure out everything without looking up what the terms mean. A little redundant button layout but it took a little getting used to before it made sense. Saving trips and cost with mechanics.

Already paid for itself, great value if you're the inquisitive type
The machine itself takes some time to understand if you're unfamiliar with odb2 codes. The manual isn't particularly clear but I was able to manage. You basically have to set your vehicle in it's memory and then it will pull the relevant codes for your systems' computer modules. Once those are in place you can run a scan and it will show you the problem codes. There's a bit of a description in the machine, but it's easier and more complete to diagnose with a search engine because you can usually find the exact or very similar case. This way, you also learn more about your vehicle's systems, which is great for me as I'm technically inclined but very new to car repairs.I bought this knowing it would come in handy someday, but my wife wanted me to return it given that there was no pressing need. I legitimately forgot (my return pile was moved during cleaning) and the return window passed. Shortly after that (as luck would have it) her 2012 Honda CRV engine light came on. That model is known to have issues with the gas cap. Specifically, the sensor has difficulty reading data and posts a "check gas cap" message to the dash display. This time, the odb2 code indicated a fuel evap problem. Knowing the former message was common I decided to replace the cap (~$16US for a nice-ish one) as a way to eliminate that as the cause. Sure enough the code cleared and no lights/messages for over a month. It has already spared us the cost of a mechanic's diagnosis, not to mention future potential of being swindled. For around $35 that's a no-brainer if you have the wherewithall and patience to work through some debugging.

Used on 7 cars so far. Super fast, 5 seconds to pull codes. Works great!
I kind of had high hopes after several hours of research when I decided on this unit, but Amazon is a swamp of competitive knock off products with manufacture videos that pretty much tell you nothing about the scanner. One of the things that is hard to know before purchase is how quick a scanner works, i found thru other reviewers videos that a lot of the less expensive scanners take 40 seconds to pull codes etc, i can't handle that. But i have been super impressed with how quick this scans and does most functions, 5-10 seconds to scan the 7 different cars i have used it on. (Bmw, jeep, toyota, honda, subaru) The live data has shown up to 47 API's and works quickly and smoothly. I have legit been very happy with this purchase, and if the company keeps competitive prices and quality products will no doubt buy their more deluxe scanners in the future. ( I also downloaded the updates on my PC, they offer an instructions video so its pretty easy, except seems a little sketch to download a program to my computer from a not well known Chinese vendor, file downloads took 5 min each and I had 8)
