I'm ordering MORE of these...they are GREAT!!
We 'recently' -just before COVID- moved to a house with a big, long, L-shaped hallway...it would be a great place for oddities and lots of artwork/pictures, but the two original ceiling can lights (even with a dimmer) are good for vacuuming, but lousy for 'mood' and worthless for "gallery" lighting.Earlier in the move-in we hung some lanterns (with battery-operated candles) to make it fun for guests: "The coats go in the bedroom just-past the third lantern!"...so we have our start on our 'mood' going.I installed some track lighting up at 8' down the long sides & around the shorter 'corner'; we now have really nice illumination from about 6-7' down!With the upper third of the walls & ceiling being dim, I thought it would be fun to try for a "poor man's Pirates of the Caribbean" and wash the upper surfaces with some 'night sky'?My fixtures take a GU10, 120V lamp and I wanted LED's...finding a DIMMABLE, BLUE one was not easy, but I found these and took a chance?THEY ARE GREAT! It took 3-weeks for them to make their way over the ocean to CA, but they were nicely packaged. When I installed them in their fixtures (Some nostalgic Hampton Bay/depot units) it was perfect!I am using 35- and 50W equivalent "EcoSmart" 3000K lamps on Lutron "Diva" dimmers...sometimes we dim them way-down; these dim smoothly and come-on at the low setting, no problem.We are very pleased with these lamps, they have been in frequent use for a month...of the four, there were no 'duds'. Last week I ordered more, for some other "projects", as well as some of the green to try out?My apologies for the cellphone camera work...I was exposing for the blue & it looks like the whole place is 'Smurf City"? It actually is MUCH better in person: those built-in shelves & the walls are washed in good, even lighting...under a blue sky!-Now to find the boxes that have the pictures in them??
