Renogy 12V 50A DC to DC Battery Charger with MPPT, On-Board Battery for Gel, AGM, Flooded and Lithium Batteries, Using Multi-Stage Charging, Solar Panel and Alternator

used a 50A DC-DC charger to charge the lithium battery from the vehicle’s starter battery. I also connected an inverter to it. It has Bluetooth functionality, so I can monitor the battery status directly from my phone. Everything works great and installation was easy.

I had originally posted about missing components in the packaging. Renogy support went above and beyond correcting the issue.

Renogy will not pay shipping for a warranty inspection. They got all the info proving their dc to dc controller quit working in less than a year. Why spend money on shipping at all? When I can use that money for another brand with better warrantee! Renogy keeps telling me to repeat things like disconnect and reconnect, the easy stuff over and over again. I sent them videos, pictures and a long audio explaining of all the voltage checks. They are wasting many weeks of my time. I will keep updating but this is rediculous. No customer would want their product after all this unsuccessful replication.Update again! I already sent a long audio, long video, and many pictures. There is nothing left that they have not evidence for. I invite them to come look listen and feel the whole thing for themselves. I have had enough repetition. I already explained how it will not work under any circumstances.

I have a full set of Renogy’s products from this controller to the solar panels, Renogy one, self heating batteries etc. when the system works it works really well. When something doesn’t the inconsistent readings even from the app and renogy one controller itself makes figuring out what’s wrong very difficult without randomly replacing parts one by one.

I have a cargo trailer that I use for work with a 2000 watt inverter to run power tool chargers & lights in the trailer. I have a 200 watt solar array connected to the solar input as well as the vehicle smart alternator input. The (2) 100 Ah AGM batteries stay charged through this device to where I never have to plug in my trailer to the house to charge my batteries. What I like about this product is if it’s cloudy and I’m using power then the vehicle will charge the batteries as I’m driving from job to job or I can start the truck for a few minutes and get a charge. This device also prevents voltage feeding back to the vehicle from my trailer batteries as it would if it were connected straight to the battery output from the truck. It also prevents overcharging of the batteries, extending the life. Lastly, the ability to change battery types on this device makes it great to use for different battery chemical types. The price is a little high but it does exactly what I need in just one device.
