Cub Scouts - Bear adventure
My wife uses these with her Bears den (8/9yo). We fingerprint a few of the den leaders ahead of time and then the kids have to figure out who's who. They love it.

Good fun
This was popular with an 11 year old and he proceeded to take everyone's fingerprints. However, you end up with a black finger for a few days as the ink wears off. More suitable for an older child as it could get messy with a younger child. Good fun.

Lots of fun
I bought this for one of my grandsons. He and his family had a lot of fun fingerprinting each other and gathering fingerprints from around the house to compare. Well worth the price. Since they had so much fun I bought another one for another of my grandsons.

Messy, but kind of cool
We ran out of "ink" after my grandson opened it over the carpet and it "stained" the carpet which made my son in law yell at my grandson a lot. This comes with a black powder graphite that spills easily when it is open (since it is hard to open, spilling is easy to do) and there is not much of it so then he was close to out. So it turned into a disaster in my gifting case. It should come with more powder and it would be cool if they could use a powder that was not black/didn't stain everything. Still it is a cool idea and the components of the kit are similar to a real fingerprint kit (I once had the cops fingerprint a rental house of mine after a break in, and they used the same staining black powder graphite).
