Gets the job done on an antique instrument
Got this to connect to an antique kontragittare. Playing through a basic amp sounds good. Used museum putty as it leaves almost no residue or damage to the finish of the guitar.

adds beautiful sound
I love this external pick-up! It can be attached temporarily with their soft resin or permanently with their adhesive. I'm using it temporarily and it's easily removed. The chord that plugs in to the amplifier is long enough for me to play and move standing up or I can remain seated. The sound is resonant and beautiful.

Good pickup. Great customer service, too.
For under $40 this was a great buy. I purchased this for a new SX Travel guitar I purchased. I knew the guitar would have little if any volume at the gig I was flying to. Customer service at Kremona was awesome. My first one started cutting out. I contacted them right away and they sent me a new one which works perfectly. People and other musicians start to chuckle when I get on stage with my tiny guitar instead of my old D28 and they are amazed. I need to use a preamp with my Martin, but for some reason, the AP-1 seems to work better right into the DI and PA system. Naturally, with the little guitar, I ask for more bass and less treble. Eventually, I will post a video review and better photos. Placement is everything with this pickup and I am still experimenting. On the travel guitar when I positioned the pickup below the bridge I started getting feedback. I tried it in different places using the blue putty they provide. To the right of the soundhole. Even on the back. The best spot on THIS guitar was next to the bridge on the treble side. I have also tried it on my mandolin and the behind the bridge placement works fine. I want to try it on my Martin just for the heck of it. I did try using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter at one gig because I didn't bring my cable. The combination of the big adapter and the heavier guitar cord wanted to pull the pickup off. Once I adhere it with the self-adhesive discs it might be different. But the cable provided works great and I have a longer cord that works fine (even though it is stereo). I bought this pickup.

There is absolutely no reason to buy this
Why are sellers allowed to sell junk. I swear this thing picks up radio stations. You're just gonna hurt your ears trying to get it to work. And I guess when you return something they get to delete your reviews? Because I know I already left a review for this garbage pickup. Am I the baddy for being honest about something that belongs in the trash?

Works well
The tone isn’t quite perfect but the pickup works well on my old arch top guitar.
