As strong as Season 1
The adventures of Rick and Morty continue. As with Season 1, this DVD set contains 10 episodes of the cartoon (comprising season 2) and all have accompanying commentary. if you are like me and love writer/director commentaries then you love these. The series continues to push my buttons with the right combination of "smart" and "dumb." Despite the lunacy of the adventures with Rick's space ship and portal gun, the show also continues to delve into deeper issues of the rocky marriage Jerry and Beth share on the domestic front. And Summer and Rick develop a deeper bond.Almost season 2 could be called Rick vs. Morty as their viewpoints continue to collide and the two of them influence the other. Morty started innocent and clueless and basically a good hearted kid. But perhaps begins to become more jaded like Rick. And perhaps Morty has signs of something like PTSD from the horrors he's witnessed. Rick slowly shows inklings of more compassion towards his grandchildren. Especially towards Summer who he pretty much blew off through all of season 1. Will Morty eventually become a dumber version of Rick? Closed off from people? Will Rick figure out that the reason for living is family and the people you love?I spend too much time thinking about this show.

Best adult animation... Philosophy, Quality, Humor...
If you like animated TV because its more interesting than real life....If you like narcissistic main characters because they say the things you wish you could....If you like kind-hearted main characters because you still want to save the world....If you like fictional families that actually function like real families....If you like subtle yet complex discussions on existentialism....If you just like quality writing and plotlines....Then R&M is the place for you, my people! If you don't, then My Little Pony is over that way ---> . Enjoy. I guess.Nah, I'm kidding. MLP really isn't all that bad. Certainly better than Trolls.Oh, and on that note, this ain't for kids! Period. In any way shape or form. I'll let my daughters watch Bob's Burgers, the Simpsons, Futurama, etc., with me. Heck, I'd even let them watch South Park over R&M; good social dialogue. They aren't allowed to touch R&M with a ten foot pole. When they are old enough to engage in debates on the existence of humanity, the universe, and themselves without having a total meltdown when I say "have you ever considered that it's all just pure dumb luck?", I'll consider it.

Amazingly funny and clever show
Love the show and all the extras on this season. A lot of cool insight about how the show is made and animation work. The show continues to be very funny, with intelligent jokes as well as completely childish ones. The show is pretty complex for animation and its characters embody that well. It can be a very dark show so if deeper jokes don't make you laugh, just pass. The fun part about the DVD is that you can hear what the guys were thinking when they came up with the episodes. Usually its not as cool of a story as you might think for their inspiration, in fact its often something very dumb, but at least they do an awesome job of presenting the idea. Its also a great show in the fact that the animation team is top notch. They work extremely hard to maintain consistency about things that have happened in past episodes, such as the cracks around the house from teleporting to another universe or the repaired roof shingles from a robot satellite taking off out of the garage. Its really a well done show all around and deserves all the credit it gets

There is no reality where I would give this show anything less than a perfect score
Season two of Rick and Morty is my personal favorite.By this point in the series, the writers and voice actors have fully realized all of their strengths and weaknesses and they use everything to their advantage. Please do yourself a favor and seek out the hidden easter eggs this show has to offer. I can't say this about many things in life, but Rick and Morty has so much replayability, it's nuts. There are always more things to discover, funny lines to quote, jaw dropping situations to talk about and much, much more. The writers even call back to other, completely irrelevant bodies of work that have nothing to do with Rick and Morty, but it's done in such clever and creative ways that it makes you think it's all tied together in some way. Genius writing.I've watched the entire series 9 or 10 times over now and it really never gets old. Honestly, it keeps getting better and better for me and I can't wait for season 3 to come out.I give Rick and Morty 10 glip glops out of 10!

Skip The Special Features
My son got me hooked on Rick and Morty. I had to have the second season. One thing I love about Rillck and Morty is that unlike many TV shows that censor bad words and such, R and M is uncensored. So it's actually better urethan the version you get on TV. This version comes wiht a bonus Plumbus owner's manual. The special features though left little to be desired. I could have done without the premiere party which we watched and it was basically some guy drawing on a projector, a band playing some music, and a guy in a yellow shirt enjoying himself a bit too much. It looked like it was someone's cell phone recording of being there, and just added to the DVD for filler. The animatics were a bit cool, as they were more or less just the crude versions of the episodes. I got it mainly for the show itself.
