WEN426DPC Drill Press Clamp, 6", Metallic

So I picked up a Harbor Freight 10" Drill press for the garage. You need some kind of clamp so I picked up a Harbor Freight 9" drill press clamp but that is WAY too big. So I took a chance and ordered this 6" hoping it would be "right sized" for the drill press.Well, I'm happy to report it is. It's the perfect size. I just ordered another as two will be perfect. I don't understand the bad reviews saying it doesn't work or fit.......must be only a problem on larger drill press's.

The purpose of the clamp is to “clamp” an object in position when squeezed to depth of locking the clamp thus negating the users need to use their own hand to do such. This clamp DOES NOT LOCK at any depth!!! Because it is useless in rendering its designed and intended purpose, there is absolutely no “value for the money” for the buyer!! Added to my dissatisfaction is that the opportunity to return this useless item expired two days ago.

Works good on my 10” drill press.

The clamp fit nicely on my small Ryobi drill press and clamped parts securely and firmly. I was able to unclamp and reposition easily. The clamps had a good heft to them and seemed to be well made. My only slight caveat is I recommend using some scrap wood to prevent pressing too hard into the wood and creating a dimple.

I purchased these because of the small size and because they came from the vendor of my drill press, which I am happy with.However, they are effectively useful. They are made of what feels like pot metal where I felt they would bend during normal use, the adjustments knob it very hard to turn, and they won't clamp all the way down on thin items.Further, at least on my WEN 4214 the ring nuts on the bottom are hard to use, the are hard to turn and they do not seat well at the bottom of the movable base on which you put items to drill.I know this item is cheap, but if you can afford a drill press you can afford a better clamp. I returned these and ordered the PTTD634 from Strong hand Tools: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JXFKVXY — yeah, its 2x the price and it's unfortunately a little larger, but it is everything this WEN clamp is not but should be. Consider getting that one instead.

I bought this and just "tried" to use it. Will not lock down on materials. I also ordered the 9 inch i hope it works better then this 6 inch. Would not waste your money on the 6" now i havent worked the 9" but i did clamp different sizes down 9" well worth the money. It at least locks down on material.

This si the third brand of 6” drill press clamp I’ve purchased and returned to Amazon. All share the same issue: they don’t stay closed. No matter how much it is adjusted, repositioned, yelled at or pleaded with, it just won’t stay closed. Not on .25” stock, nor 1”, nor any increment between completely closed and completely opened. It just pops open as soon as you take your hand off.Three different brands and they’re all behaving the same. Completely useless and very disappointing, as the size is perfect for my needs.

makes c-clamps and pliers obsolete. You need it

perfect to fit on smaller drill press tables. good hold strength and good value.

The length in the description was not totally clear...but the product is nice and good.

Sub-par. Bought two: one failed, the other is failing. The adjustment bolt and the contact surface on the toggle are both made of soft garbage alloy and mar each other over time, eventually rendering the whole thing useless as it can no longer lock. No tolerances at all, either. The holes drilled and tapped into the mounting nut still had a razor sharp burr on the bottom which split open my fingertip. Overall, just a sad and pointless hunk of pot metal. There are cheap and functional tools that I love, but this one is just cheap.

Good product

it works great until you are trying to clamp something 1/4" or less straight to the table, then it bounced up and does not engage like a vise grip should, needed to at a taller boot to the foot.
