Best Parenting Buy Ever – A MUST-HAVE for New Parents!
The Nanit has been, without a doubt, the best purchase we’ve made since becoming parents. We bought it a few days after our daughter was born because I felt one night that she wasn't breathing right. That same night, I ordered this camera, and it has truly been a lifesaver.I set it up in the nursery right next to my bed (you might wonder why a camera is needed if the baby is right there, but let me explain!). Initially, I woke up every 10 minutes due to anxiety about whether my baby was breathing. I was terrified of SIDS and constantly worried. The first night with the camera, I kept checking to ensure everything was working. But on the second night, something magical happened – I slept for the first time since she was born. This camera alleviated my anxiety about my baby’s breathing, allowing me to rest peacefully. It brought my sanity back, making it worth every penny. Now, two years later, we still use it, mainly as a nanny cam when she's playing in her room since she sleeps through the night now. This monitor continues to provide peace of mind. If your baby stops breathing, an alarm sounds from the camera and on all phones with the app – it’s loud and scary but incredibly reassuring. *A tip: if you remove the chest strap, don’t place it in the crib or nearby with the patterns facing up, as it might trigger a false alarm.I love everything about this monitor – seeing her sleep patterns, tips, BPM, little videos – it's all amazing. Honestly, I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks to my recommendation, six new parents have bought this, and they all love it too.

Obvious flaws, but still solid product
I received enough value to justify the price, but there are obvious flaws with the product. On the plus side, the camera works well, the app is easy to use (even without the premium features), and even with average bandwidth we never have any issue with the video loading. The data on the baby sleeping in the app is fun to review, although having for most people having the data likely won't result in improved sleep. I like being able to receive noise / movement alerts, although there are a number of false positive movement alerts (receive alerts even when there is nothing in the room that could possibly activate it).On the negative, the hardware installation is poorly designed. The included plastic anchors were flimsy and broke even when using the right drill size. The sheet is also a gimmick. It is not as soft as a standard sheet and, even with the sheet, you still have to manually enter the location of the baby's joints.

Best Baby Monitor Available!!
The Nanit Pro is an absolute game-changer for any new or seasoned parent. With its advanced features like Sleep Tracking, Cry Detection, and real-time sound and motion alerts, it provides unparalleled peace of mind for both my wife and I. The split-screen and picture-in-picture functionalities are fantastic, allowing us to monitor our baby seamlessly. The best part of the Nanit ecosystem is the ability for you to monitor from anywhere that has Internet / Wifi. The app and GUI is user-friendly and packed with insights that help us understand our baby's sleep patterns and well-being.We love the flexibility of the Nanit Ecosystem—it truly grows with our family, adapting from infancy to toddlerhood and now back to infancy with the birth of our second child. The Insights Plan has also been invaluable, offering detailed analytics and adorable milestone captures. If you're looking for a smart nursery solution, the Nanit is a must-have! Highly recommend it for any new parent!

You will get even less sleep with the Nanit
**After 11 months and who knows how many app updates, its connectivity is still complete and utter trash. I have spent the last 20 minutes continually force-quitting the application, re-launching, watching it connect, seeing video/hearing audio, then counting down the 5-8 seconds of functionality until the swirly ring of "my network communication coding was written by blind carrier pigeons afraid of being replaced" appears before it gives up. While typing this, I had to pause because, with 100% sincerity, the Nanit successfully reconnected for 2 seconds. Two. Seconds. Before dropping again and giving up ("please try reconnecting..."). Been doing this all day, next to the router, next to the camera, direct line of sight to either through open doors... Do NOT give this company money until they deliver a halfway competent device. This is a total scam.**Update to 1 star. After 7 months of use, Nanit has fallen further. Now, it is disconnecting -constantly- for no reason. No change to our wifi placement or signal strength... Router and camera are on a UPS so they're always up regardless of power blips, but the app and camera now lose connectivity 6+ times a night. Far from Nanit's marketing that it "lets you get more sleep" from peace of mind, we are waking up more than ever due to (more often than not, justified) worry that the Nanit has disconnected and we are not hearing the baby. Last night the Nanit has lost connection and the baby had been sobbing for 25 minutes before we woke ourselves up to check the app to find it had stopped working. We are replacing with a $1/month audio streaming app on our smartphones and a $35 standalone video baby monitor. Save your money and your sleep and buy something other than this frustrating waste of time.**This product is not all that and a bag of potato chips like it pretends to be. After 3.5mo of use, I find it is definitely overpriced and would have looked for a different solution had I known what I know now.Pros:1. The night vision feature is done well. I don't have a point of comparison for other products, but I have no complaints about the night vision (other than overall camera resolution, see below).2. An unexpected benefit is the running-timers of sorts - like "I woke up 13 minutes ago" or "I fell asleep 1h 13 minutes ago." These are very helpful. They're often wrong and very delayed: while writing this, I watched it switch from "I woke up 49 minutes ago" to "I fell asleep 18 minutes ago"... sometimes 30 minutes is *the whole naptime* and yet the Nanit wouldn't have even updated the status. Other times, baby never actually woke up but it says he did. Still, having these is a nice reference point to have an idea when things happened or to judge when the next wake window closes. Just don't believe them completely.3. Night mode is a big plus. Not talking about night vision on the camera, but rather there's a screen-darkening mode for the app, for dark rooms and sleeping if you don't want to turn the phone screen off completely.4. Background Audio mode is great to have. Using this, you can hear the baby even if you do turn your phone screen off.5. Temperature and humidity readings are nice to have. We have standalone sensors already, but having them integrated into Nanit is a small quality of life upgrade.Cons:1. Resolution is not very good. If you're trying to zoom in and watch to see if baby is breathing (because good luck with the monitoring), you're going to spend several minutes deciding whether the blob in the chest area is shifting a tiny bit because of breathing or just because of the camera autoadjusting to the available light.2. The breathing band that comes in the bundle is a sham. You're not supposed to use the band until you can put it directly around the chest -- that is, after baby's arms are free/not swaddled... which usually is around 3 months. And the breathing band they send you is sized for "0-3mo". So, you basically don't get to use it, you have to buy other "breathing wear" products if you want to use that feature.3. The application didn't have any breathing monitoring or analytics page showing up until ~2mo of usage. Maybe an app update or something, but before that there was just ... nothing. The "help" page shows screenshots of the app that did not match the app.4. Your "included" subscription starts the moment you set up the camera. So if you wanted to, you know, not be fussing with the camera on the first night with baby by setting it all up ahead of time, your 1year clock already started even though you're not actually using it. Our baby came 3 weeks late... so we had already burned over a month of our included subscription before we even had a reason to turn on the video feed. Is it that hard to have 'set-up' and 'activation' be different steps?5. The smart-sheets only fit a specific mattress size. You're out of luck if you're using something different.6. Only being able to turn the nightlight feature on from the app is a huge oversight. If I am changing the baby and realize I want a bit more light, I now have to wet-wipe my hands, run over, find my phone, unlock it, and fumble in the app to turn on the light?7. Another reviewer got it right - you're less buying a product as you are signing up for a subscription. And the app makes sure you know it, listing various categories of data in the analytics tab... "Upgrade to Premium to view". It doesn't make you feel good to know you've *already* spent a bunch of money for a "premium product" only to be continuously reminded that you should be spending even more money.8. If you lose internet, you're probably losing the Nanit feed. *Sometimes* (25% of the time) the Nanit app will switch to "Local View Only" [just for devices on the same network as the Nanit] but even when this happens, if you *gasp* minimize or close the app, the Nanit will not reconnect - it errors and tells you to check your connectivity, feed and audio are gone. There's no justification for this. We lose internet routinely but our wifi is on battery backup, so the camera-to-app communication never goes down, yet the Nanit still won't talk directly to the app on the same network most of the time.9. There is no noise cancellation on this device. So if you're using a white noise machine for the baby, you're constantly hearing the white noise machine through the Nanit.10. Also be prepared for daily marketing emails trying to sell you more cameras and bundles, even though you already have one.
