Very good product
My husband has low back and hip issues and this helps him get around the house and outside easily. It is sturdy, light weight and the "size chart" we used is pretty much accurate. The bonus flash light on the cane comes in handy at night when he uses the bathroom and is very bright. We highly recommend this.

Convenient, efficient, and versatile
This came either stands upright, can be stored away in my Rollator or luggage, and can light the way if walking after dusk. I tried all of these out already. If I want this came to be standing upright in a corner, not fearing it will tip over: it stands and remains upright as well. The grip is also more natural for me. I am fortunate to not have arthritis, as that might necessitate a model with a more versatile handle grip. For me, this model is perfect. It might work well with mild arthritis. Severe arthritis might present a more challenging grip with this specific model only. I could only imagine that there are alternative models available if one has such needs. For my needs, this came gets a solid 5 stars. In giving it 5 stars, it seems fitting to identify which customer profile might not experience the same 5 stars - along with a possible viable alternative to discuss with their medical prescriber.

Great for that stability
I got this for my wife and she loves the stability it gives her. It’s not very heavy, but very sturdy. It’s easy to fold and unfold, though she doesn’t fold it much, just leaves it long. They advertise that it stands by itself, and it does mostly on a flat smooth floor, but not on carpet or an uneven surface. The batteries in the handle make it top heavy and easy to tip over when barely touched. The pivoting foot is very nice to get a grip on any surface. The light in the handle is a good idea, but they should have angled it downwards a little to see where your walking instead of straight ahead. All in all it’s a good cane.

My Companion, Big Alex
I’m donating the two regular canes I had before because they’re not as helpful for my needs but might help someone else. My arthritis has been advancing dramatically in my lower back. I also have the disease in my hands and feet. Now approaching 80 and retired, I am noticing the disease spreading and literally tripping me up. I decided to try this cane because I needed more stability and balance. The sturdy, delightfully named Big Alex is my companion. The “foot” is perfectly balanced and gently flexes its 4 “toes” to help the rhythm of walking. I feel comfortable and steady now. The addition of a light is brilliant. I am so happy with my Alex that I am buying a red one today so I always have one in the home and one in the car. Strongly recommended.

This base model is better than the more expensive BigAlex canes
I have bought multiple BigAlex canes and can say the quality really stands up, in general. Compared to the more expensive BigAlex canes (adjustable led light models) THIS base model has a higher quality led light than others. The more expensive BigAlex has a buggy led light- While the handle is more comfortable to grip, it should be noted that CANES DO FALL DOWN. And when they do fall down, the higher priced BigAlex canes with the led light can break off where the adjustable joint is at. One fall is all it takes to break the led. However, THIS MODEL of BigAlex has a more sturdy handle/grip on it, it is not adjustable but it has been proven to be UNBREAKABLE. Also noted was the more expensive BigAlex canes can also short out easily, as one of mine just started smoking one day. (the circuit burned up) Thus two of the higher priced models had leds/grips that stopped working within weeks of my purchase. THIS model of BigAlex has an unbreakable grip on it, one that can and will survive hard falls without breaking or the batteries shorting out. However, THIS model of BigAlex has a PLASTIC foot on it, while the more expensive BigAlex has the Ankle #3, which is made of all aluminum instead of plastic....Which means if one wants the very best BigAlex, just swap the plastic foot ankle #2, of this model, for an aluminum base/ankle #3 from the higher up model. The very best quality can be found with this way. Ankle #3 is a bit tougher! By combining such parts one can have one of the toughest led canes on the market. I am happy with my cane with the ankle #3 design. It stands very easily as well. This model has outperformed all of my other canes. In fact, I'm buying another one of these right now. I wanted a blue one! ' very happy with with this design.

Base to small
Feels good to the hand and arm and moves smoothly when walking. My Problem with this cane is that the Base is not large enough to keep cane standing upright alone. Constantly bending over to pick it up. The STANDING BASE needs to be a little wider to support cane in stand alone position.

For the most part, a good cane.
This is a very good, lightweight cane.there are just two things that i wish they would change. First the handle should be a softer rubber, although you can use the cane just fine as is, and i wish it's base of four feet were just a little bigger all combined. The cane will not stand up alone on it's base as is and must be leaned up against something. All in all though it is a good cane to have and use.

BigAlex Folding Walking Cane with LED Light
I like this type of cane for several reasons. It folds up for one. It also comes with a rigid plastic attachment that can be used when you fold it up or you can use the wrist lanyard on the cane to do it. It has a storage bag. It has a pistol grip instead of a bicycle grip. It has a large foot with 4 stoppers (comes with a standard foot too) that gives you a better feel of the ground and more stability. It can stand on its own on level surfaces (not so much on carpet). It has a flashlight in the handle. If I was to redesign this can I would:Aim the flashlight more toward the ground and more toward my next step.Make the pistol grip out of a softer material.Include instructions on changing the foot from the large 4 pad to the single foot.Overall it's a pretty cool looking cane, so I'm giving it 5 Stars.
