I'm the caregiver for my elderly mother who has dementia. When she has diarrhea, she can't cope with cleaning herself. I'll spare you all the details. Suffice it to say the SmarterFresh warm water bidet sprayer allows her to be cleaned up while she sits on the toilet instead of having to undress her and put her in the shower, etc. The SmarterFresh sprayer changes a 1 hour mess into a 10 minute "freshen up" (several times a day).I've used it several times over the last couple of weeks.The sprayer hose is about 7 feet and very flexible. The "faucet diverter" attaches to the bathroom sink faucet (it replaces the aerator) and so the water temperature and pressure is adjustable with each use, whether cleaning the toilet, clothing or a living person.Some faucets are a "junior" size and the "faucet diverter" won't attach. The installation instructions talk about this and recommend the kind of adapter to buy from a hardware store. Not all hardware stores carry such adapters. I went to 4 different places and finally found the "Lasco" brand, model 09-1661NL "aerator adapter kit" which has 3 different size adapters, one of which worked perfectly. After the time-consuming hunt for the proper aerator adapter (Grrrrrr) it installed perfectly without tools in about 5 minutes.The SmarterFresh sprayer is very well made. All the parts are metal with a chrome or brushed stainless steel finish. It can be wiped clean quickly and easily. The faucet diverter valve is precisely fit and snug with no play or leaks but very smooth operation. It has a nice, solid feel. When the valve is switched to flow into the sink you get a consistently aerated spray with no errant or combined streams. Likewise the bidet sprayer thumb lever has a very snug yet smooth operation with no leaks. The spray nozzel has 18 holes which produce a high volume flow, that sprays 18 co-linear streams into a 5/8-inch diameter spray that is soft to the touch on impact. The spray doesn't widen or narrow, it is essentially an 5/8-inch diameter cylinder. There is no needle-like stinging jet spray. It is ideal for washing delicate skin with a lot of water. The hose connections at each end swivel freely but snugly, no leaks. The sprayer handle fits well into the palm of the hand and, being a brushed stainless steel finish, it doesn't feel slippery when wet; you get a firm grip, it swivels on the hose as you wish, and the lever is easily operated by your thumb.It was shipped and arrived promptly, adequately packaged to avoid damage.I would like an optional angle-adjustable sprayer, where the bidet sprayer head mounts on a 45-degree joint that can be rotated from a straight inline position (as it is now) thru to a 90 degree angled position (and any lesser angle in between). This would allow the sprayer to be more easily angled towards those "hard to reach places" without having to hold the sprayer underneath the body.

This is the second SmarterFresh bidet I've bought. The first has been performing well, with no leaks at all, for over 5 years. I got the new one so I can use it as a spray on my terrace, which is adjacent to my half bathroom. My only gripe, a minor one, is that the new spray head does not nestle properly in the toilet tank holder. I also found that the new holder is about a half-ounce lighter than the old one (4.5 vs. 5.1 oz.). On the positive side, the new hose is several inches longer than the old one. I hope the new hose and spray hold up as well as the old ones. Overall, I'm deducting a star for the holder fit and possible materials change in the new vs. the old.

I bought one for my child who suffers from chronic constipation. He has hard poo's, and therefore, a sore bum. This is a fantastic product. I'm quite puzzled why we weren't told to get this right away from our doctor. It has been the most useful tool. He uses it before he has a bowel movement to allow his internal and external sphincter muscles to open at the same time. Children like him, who have trained themselves to withhold have sphincter muscles that do not open simultaneously causing undue straining with no results. This is a serious issue, and one that is overlooked by so many doctors. He's been out of school for a year now trying to recover from this. This sprayer is remarkable.The first one I bought came in less than 24 hours to my door. It worked so well, I bought another one. Again, less than 24 hours it arrived. It takes around 10-15 minutes, at the most, to install it. I made my husband install the first one at 1am when he arrived from a trip--I wanted it ready for my son to use first thing in the morning.We used to do a sitz bath before and after a bowel movement. The sprayer is much easier to set up and my son can do it himself. The sitz bath I would help him by continuously pour water into it.If you or your loved one's bum suffer from too hard poo's or irritation, then by all means get one of these. It is remarkable. I never want to be without one. I told my husband we will always take one to a hotel so he can install it while we are there.For those that are struggling with any sort of difficulty down there, it truly is necessary to have one.I've been using it just to keep clean after a bowel movement, much like all of Europe does with their bidets in every bathroom. It's ultimately a much more civilized habit than what we got going on here in the common USA bathroom.Could it get better? Actually, yes! The owner just sent me my third sprayer for free! How did he know we have three bathrooms? Unbelievable service. Outstanding. I think it might just be the best $40, no $80 I have ever spent.I spoke of this on the facebook page that Dr. Hodges, the author / urologist has about poo problems in children. Expect increase in sales from just that-everyone was so pleased to know about this product. Anything to help these babies live with a bit less pain is soooooo essential.My whole family and I are so thrilled to have one now in every bathroom now! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I will be taking the brochures to my doctor's office and encouraging them to tell their patients to get one right away.

We got the connector hose connected to the faucet, but it took a while to figure out that I had to push up hard enough to push a piece of plastic out of the way to get to the threads. After that it went smoothly.

Very solidly built product and installation was simple. Needed to use a wall mount rather than the tank mount for the sprayer; emailed customer support, and they sent me the piece I needed for free. Highly recommend!
