Q: Will these adapt to the R12 gauges?

Q: Do they have 4 or 6 ball connectors?

6 n they are very hard to connect n disconnect

Q: What size thread is the chrome body female fitting? I know the brass adapter is 1/4 male flare on the one end but what size type thread is the other

NOT sure -BUT mine fit and it's used on the 134 system

I bought these a few years ago and they work GREAT for me-no problems at all !-it's like Tony P. said in previous answer you can check the fittings by looking inside them to make sure the pins are moving in and out when you turn them either way-they should not be hard to turn in or out -when you snap them on the valves-you have to be light-handed or you will destroy the schrader valve on the ac lines-go to u tube and watch Erick The CAR Guy's video on Charging ac systems on cars this video is very clear and easy to understand-On the other hand if the adapters you bought are not workin you have to send them back for replacements-just check them for proper operation and watch Erick The Car Guy- mine worked GREAT and the price was GREAT
