If you watch Aerolatte TV videos or go to their website, they tell you that cold milk froths best with low fat content and must be very cold (straight out of the fridge). Hot frothing supposedly works on a different principle, but is best with higher fat milks. If you try that, they recommend 50 seconds in an 800 Watt microwave oven but never hot enough to boil. They also have a technique where you start at the bottom of your cup and move up slowly until just under the surface regardless of temperature, and then do another round for optimal froth. Every coffee drink is a new experiment in the above variables for me, so hopefully you will find your optimum froth that way too!

Q: I have one at home and have been so happy with it. However, it just stopped working and I'm not sure why? Does this come in white?

Just had to replace mine & did not come across any that came in a white finish but as a caution the newer models main body are now plastic NOT metal like the older ones. The finish on it looks nice but the feel is not as solid feeling as the earlier models.

Q: Can the blade/head fit in a water bottle to act as a blender?

I don't know how wide the mouth is on your water bottle, so I can say maybe. One you get out of the cooler like Dasani or Evian, no. A reusable bottle, yes!

Q: how do i open the battery case

Susan, If you look at the bottom of this frothing device you will see a ribbed black cover. If you are right handed, Hold the frother with the left hand so you can see the ribbed black cover, then put your right thumb on this cover, push down with your thumb and slide the cover back towards you. This will open the battery compartment.Once opened, look at the side with the red color. This will show you how the two batteries go in it (-) & (+).
