When you fire to a specific range, say cone 6, to see if your kiln is working correctly, align 3 cones in a row, using a cone 5 on the left, leaning left, then a cone 6 in the middle, leaning left, then a cone 7 on the right, leaning left. The cone 5 will melt all the way to the left and lay flat, the cone 6 will melt to the left the correct amount, and the cone 7 should not melt at all, or very little. You can go on-line and search the web for the correct positioning of 3 cones when checking your kiln to fire at the right temperature.

Q: why does a little print on the cones say 06? in the box also has a black stamp that says srb06 aum?

SRB06 is the manufacturers part number. 06 is the cone temp at which it reacts when the correct temperature is reached in a kiln. The tip of the cone will bend.

Q: I am trying to find and order Cone 4 kiln setter cones. Does Amazon offer these?

If you cannot locate on Amazon, then I suppose no vendor is offering it. Not a popular cone .
