Great unit but not tall enough
I like the unit but a standard stick of butter is pushed down by the top cover lessening the seal all the way around and making a mess on the inside of the top.

Almost Perfect
Great little product. Comes with a small fork/knife thing and a slot to store it in. It perfectly holds and cuts 2 sticks of butter.I knocked off 1 star for 2 reasons:- Price (too expensive for what you're getting)- The lid doesn't snap shut. It just sits on top.

Convenient Pats
This works perfectly for our Pancakes at church café breakfast on Sunday mornings. Just let sticks of butter slightly warm up from refrigerator so easier to cut through but not mushy. Then place container back in refrigerator to cool to right temp and ready to use for a nice hot fluffy stack! 😋

A block of butter doesn't fit in the case.
Looks like the US's block of butter doesn't fit in the case. I am able to split the butter by the cutter but have to lay down all pieces, because the hight of case is lower. Also the width of case is slightly larger than the butter case space in the fridge, so the lid cannot be closed. Maybe my fridge issue, though, be aware that the case size should be checked before purchase.

cuts beautifully!
i love this high quality Japanese butter dish! the only thing that could be improved is if the lid stayed on more securely. we use a rubber band to hold it on, but it's a little inconvenient. maybe japan's standard butter stick is a slightly different size than our American one?

Not Compatible with American Butter
This is a beautiful butter dish and I would have loved to use it! The design is brilliant and I adore how the stainless steel aesthetics accompanied with the built in cutter. Apparently, Japanese butter is different than American. Damn.

Lid not tall enough for standard European slab of buyyer
I wish I would have paid more attention to the reviews. The cutter works great and the grooved dish was a pleasant surprise but it's too short for a slab of Kerrigold, or any other European style butter I've tried. I guess you could use it without the lid but I'd rather have one with a taller lid that fits the butter I have access to.Edited to add - the worst part is that, for some reason, this item is not eligible for return. I think that's the first time I've ever seen that on Amazon and I'm more than disappointed.
