it works perfectly, but if you aren't constantly cycling water through it, you will have very warm water (it sits in a chamber around the bulb and gets hot).i added it as a extra filter stage in what is now a seven stage filter system. I want EVERYTHING out of my drinking water...

Poorly designed o-ring seal around light chamber. Just the slightest pressure or change in position of the wire triggers a leak. Have tightened the seal a few times, without success. This is unit is useless.Plus, mounting was a challenge. The mounts provided must be designed to secure the unit to another round filter -- but not a wall / cabinet side. Had to get little creative with zip ties.Buy this product at your own peril.

The water at my office is full of iron, iron bacteria and manganese. I put in a reverse osmosis filter to clean the water and this UV sterilizer to kill any bacteria or viruses. The unit came with a spare bulb and will sterilize more water than my filter will put out. The provided clamps allowed me to mount it on top of the existing filters and works great. It draws little power, although I have noticed the water sitting in the filter when not used warms slightly, but I don't find it an issue.
