10/10 just be careful
It’s a great blade but be careful how you grip it cuz it closes easy. It is very good metal it is very sharp. (If you sharpen it every once in a while after use) please excuse how it looks right now I work in construction and have been beating up for like 4 months now.

Great blade
This is a great knife, carry it often. Edge is sharp, the blade opens easily the shape fits the hand great. I love the shape and curves on the blade.

China/Japan
Howdy, just because it has Japanese in the product title doesn’t mean it was made in Japan or use's Japanese steelThat being said. Great knife! Very well made and interesting blade design

Katsu knifes
One of many Katsu knifes in my collection and probably one of my favorite : heavier than most of the pieces; well balanced with nice blade and very smooth opening mechanism which should be adjusted at home . Happy with quality of steel and the shape.

Tip and First Inch of Blade Arrived VERY DULL — Requires sharpening RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!
It’s a beautiful knife and feels like it’s very high quality, however the tip and first inch or so of the blade are not sharp AT ALL. The rest of the blade is fairly sharp (not as sharp as I would like, but acceptable), however the top part of the blade is SO dull that I literally can’t even cut packing tape with it! The $9 utility knife from Home Depot works way better. But it’s not a huge deal — I will sharpen it myself. It’s just disappointing that a knife that is so expensive doesn’t even arrive properly sharpened.

Japan craftsmanship at its best
I bought this for my Father’s Day gift. I researched and wanted a nice knife made in Japan. I came across this while reviewing online. Stout knife that can take a beating but also has a great look to it. Also came with an all leather sheath.

It's very tough
Which can be good and a little inconvenient. The knife didn't come incredibly sharp. Sharp enough to get most jobs done, but not shaving sharp. I spent a little bit running it through a kitchen knife sharpener and it didn't budge the blade on this thing. The steel is crazy strong. Going to try a more robust sharpener at some point, see if I can alter this thing at all.

Quality & Hint
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, knows more about knifemaking than the Japanese and this crafted, incredibly sharp, piece is exactly what I expected . . . Japanese Excellence. Here's a clue to 'fit's the excellent sheath. Soak the sheath overnight, submerged, in water. Saran-wrap the knife in multiple layers. Put the knife in the closed sheath. Let it dry . . . Done. Custom fit.
