The product doesnt even turn on. i need to return it...
It doesnt turn on... the adapter isnt even Sony... fraudulent product... iv been cheated!! in less than a week the return window is shut... such treatment for a Prime member!

If I could I would give it 4.5
I love films from all over the world (ask my film students the whole world gets taught plus I my personal collection includes VCD music videos or PAL formatted movies from France, China and Israel), from different "video regions" and yet as an artist I also believe video piracy is a crime (when I was in China back in 2006 Mission Impossible III came out and when I went to the theater to watch it you could already buy the DVD of it right outside of the theater for the price of admission). I specifically searched for a non-record all-region player as I didn't want to support a machine made to pirate other people's hard work.I found the manual and the remote easy to use together (much easier than a smart television I have it hooked up to, the smart tv makes me look dumb). The diagram of the remote along with simple to understand instructions work really well together. It is easy to flip between all-region to a specific region setting for a disc that is set for PAL televisions.I don't know if it is just Region 3 where the picture quality doesn't look great, not horrible, but not as rich as I like. The remote is fine to use once you start using it with the manual, but it is definitely one you need the manual for as it is a little different from my other Sony remotes (I try to keep all the remotes the same company so if batteries run down I can temporarily use a different remote).Like I said I would give this player and remote a 4.5 out of 5 stars if possible.

The region free modification is effective. The brand and model is the bees knees, having several desireable features. The whole package is definitely worth the $.
