Metra Electronics 99-8162G Single/Double DIN Dash Kit for 2007-2012 Lexus ES350 (Gray)

As far as I could find, this is the only dash kit for a Lexus ES 350 that allows a double DIN receiver. The good news is that it really good fit.I ordered this along with a Kenwood receiver and some wiring harnesses. I had this professionally installed so I can not comment on how easy the installation would be for an inexperienced person, but the installer said that the kit fit really well and was easy to put in.The kit looks great installed. There are no gaps in the seams where it marries up to the remaining factory dash. It does not rattle, and the color of the plastic is a perfect match to the part of the dash that was replaced. Note - the factory center dash has a two little pieces of wood trim that the factory radio's volume and tuning button poke through. This kit does not have similar wood trim. No big deal to me, but I mention it in case it would be to someone else.

At first I couldn't fit it in my car thought it was defective. After reading the instruction carefully, I found it required to trim the original frame so this kit fitted in perfectly.

I thought that this would fit my 2012 Lexus es350. I was mistaken because it does not have all of the button cutouts that my car has. I’m sure someone could customize it if they are handy. I am not in this area and I only went by the specs thinking it would be a plug and play deal. Not the company’s fault. Not all cars will work with this set up though.

I ordered this along with several other parts when I did an after market radio install on my Lexus es 350. I got the work done at my local Best Buy and had them write up a quote for all the parts that I would need. coming to Amazon I found all the parts I needed for $100 less total and I was very pleased to save money. For this particular product all is perfect except that it did arrive with about an inch scratch on the upper left-hand corner but that didn't bother me too much as it is not terribly noticeable. This part fit my car beautifully and saved me money what else can I say I'm pleased.

I installed it anyway, but the quality control and overall quality of Metra dash kits have gone downhill considerably. It has gaps and has imperfections around the rim where the radio comes through. Considering there's not enough room to add the beauty ring that comes with radio it makes the overall look not as appealing. Unfortunately nobody else makes one for this car so it's the only option available.
