Steripod Clip-on Toothbrush Protector, Red/Orange, 2 Count, (Pack of 1)

We’ve all seen the videos of airborne bacteria in the bathroom- that should be enough to get Steripods to protect your toothbrushes. We have been on Subscribe and Save for these for about 3 years. Yes, the smell is a little to get used to but it’s just the harmless disinfectant doing it’s job.

I buy these because they are clear, easy to use and clean. There is a small, oval medicinal-like disc encased in the inside which smells like Listerine, which adds to it feeling extra clean. I use them at home and on trips. The spring-close design doesn't fall apart at all. Fits in my travel pouch as well as our toothbrush holder. Worth the price.

I started looking for a new type of toothbrush protector when I found mold growing in my last one. YUCK! ….and I change both the brush and covers out frequently! It goes without saying that this brush and protector went straight into the garbage. When I found “Steri” pods I thought it might prevent something like this from happening. Time will tell, but my initial impressions are: At first glance they looked just like my old one, but when I opened it up, I could see ….and SMELL the difference. The smell made me nervous, but I now know that the steri-pod’s “scent” is intentional and its supposed to keep the toothbrush “fresh” I think it has a very “chemical” scent…(none of the scent has transferred to my brush) Due to a medical condition I brush frequently and have at least 3 places in my home where I keep brushes and paste (lots of brushes to protect) I bought enough covers to last 6 months (changing them out every 3 months as recommended) I have not had the mold issue with any other cover so I think it was the fact that that brush/cover was located in a very small bathroom that steams up a lot and probably got condensation inside. I am watching it like a hawk and will be interested to see if the “active vapors” actually help prevent this from happening again.

The protectors are individually sealed in separated packaging, keeping the second one sterile if you aren't using both right away. The weighting is perfect for laying a toothbrush down and the clips keep the head elevated as a stand. My Oral-B electric toothbrush fits perfectly in it without the bristles touching the edges when set down. The color options are as described even if amazon shows the wrong picture at check out.

I'm really impressed with these. I ordered the two pack for myself and my son for traveling, and they work surprisingly well for both of us. My son is 9 years old so he has a smaller toothbrush, but it works great. I love that I can protect our toothbrushes and health at the same time, and I really like this brand. I have ordered other brands in the past, but I will definitely order these again!
