Remember the old version of hidden valley ranch dressing? The rich, thick, full body, hits every note of the spices. The brand that we hope they bring to the table at restaurants. The one we grew up with. The one that cannot be replicated. This is the ranch you are looking for. There is something about adding real buttermilk that makes the spices sing and is the taste you love. Don’t get me wrong, if I can only find the hidden valley packet that requires milk to make, I will choose that over any other brand on the market. They perfected ranch dressing, I believe they invented ranch dressing so no other brand will do. But the pack that requires buttermilk to be added, is the one we grew up with and what I want every time. I know the pack that asks for milk has a buttermilk powder in it. It’s just not the same as the one that calls for buttermilk to be added. These packs are a great value, and maybe I shouldn’t say this but I would pay twice the amount just to have this formula. It has a long shelf life in the fridge. I have used it a few days passed the expiration date and it is still good. It’s so versatile that I don’t usually have any left. It pairs great with everything. The men in the family add hot sauce to their ranch for an extra kick. I don’t know about everybody else but I find myself searching the pantry and the fridge to find something I can use hidden valley buttermilk ranch on. Not the other way around. This is the packet you want and formula we grew up on and love. Only wish there were more stars to give! I pray they never stop making this formula.
